About the role…

The Lead Hand, supports the vision for the plant on a high level - building the team and crafting its culture. You’ll be accountable for executing Managements processes and procedures ensuring the team follows all procedures consistently and driving measurable, quantitative improvements in performance.

The ideal candidate will lead small groups of associates in Labeling of Packaging Material, Portioning of ingredients, Kitting & Casing. Act as a support for associates to ensure successful task completion (on time and in full) so they are engaged, productive and have a clear focus on problem solving, team work and working to standards. He/she will build trust through effective leadership and skill application of people management processes. 

This Role is Permanent, Full Time. 

Position Overview

  • Monitor day to day production tasks and enforce speed of work
  • Maintain productivity/Efficiency 
  • Communicate supervisor of vital errors or issues with production
  • Maintain and enforce food safety and workplace safety 

Role Requirements:

  • Knowledge of a professional discipline, technical specialties, related processes and/or people issues requirements; capable of implementing practical procedures of systems which are moderately complex.  Leadership and organizing skills may be required.
  • Can Lead a small group of people, higher level of communication
  • 1-2 years work and management experience is required
  • Has the authority to direct the colleague’s daily work activities whether within their own department or through cross-functional teams (example: regularly leading project teams with members from across different functions)
  • Awareness of Health & Safety in the workplace 
  • Great attention to detail and the ability to prioritize a busy workload 
  • Ability to challenge and make effective decisions 
  • The job requires periods of heavy lifting and standing for most of the day 
  • Must be willing and able to work in a refrigerated environment (0° to 5°)
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • You must be willing to work am or pm shifts & must be available weekdays, weekends and holidays.
