About the Role

The Facilities & Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, monitoring, and managing maintenance operations within a Distribution Centre and to ensure that safety, sanitation, and reliability standards are achieved. Reporting to the Site Leader, this hands-on role will perform and oversee the technical tasks related to the engineering, installation, maintenance, and sanitation of production equipment, infrastructure, and facilities. 

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and perform preventative maintenance of equipment, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, security, and other property assets
  • Troubleshoot maintenance problems and execute repair or replace of assets as required to ensure operating performance achieves safety, food safety, and production requirements
  • Purchase supplies, tools, and equipment required to complete maintenance, repair, and replacement activities and projects
  • Build and manage critical MRO spare parts inventory
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and site stakeholders to plan, install, commission, and maintain production equipment in the Distribution Centre
  • Manage all CMMS activities to include project management, work orders, purchasing, and MRO spare parts inventory management
  • Oversee all internal and external sanitation activities in both production and non-production areas; manage and coordinate schedules and scope of work of sanitation team members
  • Manage preventative pest control activities 
  • Manage contractors and suppliers; define scope of work, oversee tasks, and ensure completion of deliverables 
  • Promptly communicate all safety related issues and concerns

At minimum, you have:

  • 5+ years of facilities management experience
  • Electrical, mechanical, and maintenance-related certifications
  • Knowledge of trades related to site facilities, repair and overhaul
  • Knowledge of facilities maintenance processes, procedures, and systems
  • Knowledge of occupational of OHS and Food Safety and its application in a warehouse and production environment
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and a can-do attitude. Used to working in a high pressure, fast paced, and constantly changing environment

  • Availability to work weekend schedules and cold facilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite (Calendar, Gmail, Docs, Sheets), and video conferencing (Hangouts Meet)
