Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our Procurement Leadership team as Senior Manager of Third Party Warehouse Management, on the Procurement Team.  In this role, you will build and own the relationships between HF and partnering warehouses.  This will include sharing quarterly forecast projections, managing day to day issues, onboarding new vendors, and revolutionizing the way HF uses the warehouse network to optimize operations.  

You will 

Own and manage the long term relationships and day to day operations between HF and our third party warehouse partners.  Specifically: 

  • Develop and share up to date quarterly forecasts with warehouse partners
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for HF buyers and warehouse partners when they have problems; solve those problems
  • Negotiate rates and terms to get HF the best pricing and terms possible
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new partners as needed
  • Revolutionize our network by moving HF into a hub-and-spoke regional replenishment model for warehouses
  • Work collaboratively across HF teams to build the regional replenishment model, starting with small pilots and moving toward entire regions
  • Conduct analyses weighing the costs and benefits to working with various facilities, understanding freight charges, pallet in/out fees, recurring fees, etc.
  • Adapt the warehousing strategy as needed to adjust to growing volumes, changing network allocation, and operations requirements
  • Jump in to resolve crises, in the event a third party warehouse cannot execute on HF expectations
  • Develop processes for data sharing, issue resolution, inbound and outbound PO management
  • Project manage to get all warehouse partners onto our real-time data sharing platform
  • Proactively lead the strategy for 3PW management and communications, including mentoring and coaching buyers in consistent and reliable communication and process development

At a minimum, you have... 

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required 
  • 5+ years of purchasing, operations or warehouse experience, preferably in the perishable food space. 
  • Quantitative and analytical experience (either through education or professional experience) including solid comfort in Google Sheets.
  • Flexibility to work weekends when required (2-3 times per quarter)
