When it comes to our teams, nothing is more important than the safety of our employees and fostering a positive work culture within our facilities. All employees begin their time with us through safety training. We cultivate a culture where safety is not just a requirement, but a shared responsibility for everyone who works in or visits our facilities. We conduct daily safety audits at our sites and provide safety tips for frontline managers to share with employees, ensuring safety remains top of mind for everyone in the building.

We Are Committed to a Safe Work Environment

Employees are encouraged to voice their comments, questions, and concerns to our team. We value open, two-way dialogue in our buildings and welcome direct feedback. Employees have multiple ways to share their thoughts, including speaking with their manager or reaching out to our onsite human resources or safety teams. We also regularly conduct employee surveys—typically every four months—hold onsite focus groups, roundtables, start-of-shift standups, and All Hands meetings, all of which encourage discussion at the site level. Finally, we offer a 24/7 hotline for anyone to share concerns anonymously.

We Listen to Our Employees

Our hourly employees who prepare customer orders work in full-time roles that offer competitive pay and receive regular pay rate increases as their skills and tenure grow alongside our organization. Employees are eligible for health care benefits starting on their first day of employment, as well as 401(k) matching and paid time off. We also offer a zero-cost health care option for employees. HelloFresh employees receive paid parental leave after 9 months of service, along with free back-up child care and elder care options. Employees can access pre-tax spending accounts, such as commuter benefits and healthcare and dependent care FSAs. Additionally, employees are eligible for generous product discounts of up to 85% off our portfolio of products. Onsite medical clinics are available at all locations to support those working in our buildings.

To manage variation in customer demand, HelloFresh partners with third-party providers who help supplement our workforce.

We expect all of our staffing partners to comply with applicable laws and our <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1n91l_MJdyGi5sT77v3kNSeJ9IaubDDfQ/view">Ethical Trading Policy</a>. This policy defines labor practices that HelloFresh deems unacceptable, both within the company and throughout its supply chains. The Ethical Trading Policy prohibits forced or bonded labor (including any form of modern slavery or human trafficking), child labor, discrimination, harassment, and harsh or inhumane treatment. It also requires suppliers to respect worker rights, provide a safe and hygienic workplace, and ensure timely payment of wages.

Additionally, HelloFresh conducts supplier audits to verify that suppliers are adhering to these labor standards. When necessary, HelloFresh may engage independent third parties to conduct these audits.

Every day, HelloFresh works with local organizations, government officials, logistics professionals, and even our own customers to combat hunger in communities across the US. Our donations include surplus food, ingredients, supplies, meal kits, employee volunteer hours, and monetary contributions to organizations fighting food insecurity and food waste.
