On the side are crisp roasted green beans and fragrant jasmine rice (both super-delicious with that tasty sauce!). Oh, and did we mention it only takes 25 minutes to whip it all up? Winner-winner, fast and tasty chicken dinner!

Cooking Steps

Cook Rice
1
  • Adjust rack to top position and preheat oven to 425 degrees. Wash and dry produce.

  • In a small pot, combine rice, ¾ cup water (1½ cups for 4 servings), and a big pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce to a low simmer. Cook until rice is tender, 15-18 minutes.

  • Keep covered off heat until ready to serve.

Roast Green Beans
2
  • While rice cooks, trim green beans if necessary. Toss on a baking sheet with a drizzle of oil, salt, and pepper.

  • Roast on top rack until golden brown and tender, 12-15 minutes.

Prep & Make Sauce
3
  • Meanwhile, trim and thinly slice scallions, separating whites from greens.

  • In a small bowl, combine ginger paste, sweet soy glaze, honey, 2 TBSP water (3 TBSP for 4 servings), and Sriracha to taste.

Cook Chicken
4
  • Open package of chicken* and drain off any excess liquid; season with salt and pepper.

  • Heat a large drizzle of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken in a single layer and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and almost cooked through, 3-5 minutes.

Coat Chicken
5
  • Once chicken is browned, add scallion whites to pan. Cook until fragrant, 1 minute.

  • Pour in soy honey sauce. Cook until sauce has thickened and chicken is coated and cooked through, 2-3 minutes. Turn off heat.

Finish & Serve
6
  • Fluff rice with a fork and season with salt and pepper. TIP: For extra flavor, stir in 1 TBSP butter; 2 TBSP for 4 servings.

  • Divide rice, green beans, and chicken between plates. Garnish with scallion greens and sesame seeds. Serve.

Review summary

Updated on Sep 2026
  • Flavor: The sweet-soy honey glaze is a standout, with the ginger adding a bold kick that many love; others found the ginger paste overpowering and suggest using only a fraction of the packet. Some felt the sauce leaned more gingery than sweet-soy, so adjust the ginger to taste 🌶️.
  • Ease of prep: This dish comes together quickly and is easy enough for a weeknight, though a few found managing the rice, green beans, and chicken simultaneously a bit hectic the first time.
  • Suggestions: Use half the Sriracha (or skip it) if you prefer mild heat; roast the green beans for slightly less time than directed, or steam them instead, to avoid toughness. Adding a little garlic powder to the green beans before roasting was a popular upgrade.
  • Leftovers: Leftovers are possible but the dish is best fresh, as the chicken can dry out slightly when reheated.
  • Sauce: A few reviewers noted the sauce stayed thin rather than thickening; make sure to cook it down for the full 2–3 minutes and avoid adding excess water to get a better glaze.

Love the soy + honey with the kick from the chili sauce. I skipped the ginger this time and just sauteed the green beans before adding the chicken, and then added some diced water chestnuts for crunch since the sesame seeds really don't LOL

Great tasting chicken. Bypassed the rice for romaine lettuce leaves...fantastic- modified lettuce wraps...Great flavors in the soy honey glaze. Quick prep, nice combination with the green beans.

Next time I get this meal kit, I'm going to blister the green beans and add them to the chicken & sauce. I was very tempted to mix up some honey & sriracha just for the beans, but it was an afterthought and everything else was cooked & ready.

I cut steps by sautéing the green beans with the chicken once it was no longer pink and also added the sesame seeds in this step. The only thing I'd like to see is more rice and more sauce.... Wonderful nonetheless :)

Green beans are dry after oven roasting. The rice was very bland by itself, but tasted good with the chicken on top of it. The soy honey chicken had lots of flavor.

The chicken was the right amount of spicy and sweet. The green beans were tossed in some bacon grease and served with the rice. The meal was so flavorful.

This was delicious. Love that the chicken comes precut!! Could have used a bit more rice and more green beans to match the large portion of chicken but overall easy and tasty

The sweet soy honey sauce was great! Great taste and not too much honey or siracha! Perfect amount. Green beans were yummy along with jasmine rice! My only complaint was most of the chopped up chicken was fatty but everything else was great.
