Freshly baked cookies are simply the best. These classic holiday cookies are made with rich cocoa powder, which gives them their fudgy texture, and rolled in confectioners’ sugar for that signature crinkly crust. This handy-dandy baking kit has everything you need to make them from scratch. Trust us, waiting for them to cool is the hardest part. (Note: Eggs not included.) (Contains: Eggs, Wheat)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together white sugar, oil, vanilla, and eggs until combined. Using a rubber spatula, fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until a dough forms. Roll dough into 16 1-inch balls. (If the dough is too sticky, refrigerate for a few minutes before rolling into balls.)
Place confectioners’ sugar in a small bowl. Working one dough ball at a time, roll balls in sugar until coated. Place on prepared baking sheet at least 2 inches apart.
Bake until cookies have spread and confectioners’ sugar appears cracked, 8 to 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool completely (cookies will flatten as they cool).
Yum! Definitely needed to be refrigerated for a solid 30+ minutes before dough was not so sticky. Should be part of instructions. They also came out kind of big, maybe 20-24 cookies would be better?
Needed more flour, I added some to the dough until it was actually a cookie dough consistency (it was more like brownies before) and it was easier to work with and came out wonderfully
These are amazing! I love the texture, I have to hide them from my partner or they will eat them all before I get some.
I wish these were available more often. They were really good, nicely fudgy.
Delicious and so simple to make. My kids loved them.
Easy to make/ tasty and well measured! When does a recipe actually make the number of cookies listed?
Exactly like I remembered these from my youth. The only issue is that I had to refrigerate the dough for > half hour before I could roll it into balls. Otherwise the dough was way to sticky to get it off my hands.
I refrigerated this dough for an hour and still couldn't roll it in the palm of my hand. It was just a gooey mess.
These are like brownies but in cookie form and they're the best!!!
Love these cookies! Easy and fast to make thanks to everything pre-measured.
