Looking for a new way to celebrate pasta night (aka the best night of literally every week)? Our chefs have got your covered with this rustic, Tuscan-inspired dish. Spaghetti noodles are cooked until perfectly al dente, then tossed in a creamy Parmesan sauce. Bites of pan-roasted chicken are seasoned with Italian herbs for aromatic flavor and a bit of heat, while garlicky wilted kale is scattered throughout for tender texture. ImPASTAbly delicious!

Produced in a facility that processes eggs, milk, fish, peanuts, sesame, shellfish, soy, tree nuts, and wheat.

Cooking Steps

Prep
1

• Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Wash and dry produce. • Remove and discard any large stems from kale; roughly chop leaves. Peel and mince or grate garlic. • Pat chicken* dry with paper towels; season all over with salt, pepper, and half the Tuscan Heat Spice (all for 4 servings).

COOK PASTA
2

• Once water is boiling, add spaghetti to pot. Cook until al dente, 9-11 minutes. Reserve ½ cup pasta cooking water, then drain.

Cook Kale
3

• While pasta cooks, heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large pan over mediumhigh heat. Add kale and a splash of water. Cook until kale is wilted and very tender, 5-7 minutes. TIP: If necessary, cook kale in batches. • Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant, 30 seconds. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer to a plate.

Cook Chicken
4

• Heat another drizzle of olive oil in pan used for kale over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through, 4-6 minutes.

Make Sauce
5

• Return kale to pan with chicken and reduce heat to medium low. Add cream sauce. TIP: Cut top off carton to open fully; transfer contents, using a spoon or spatula to scrape sauce from carton sides. • Stir in cream cheese and ¼ cup reserved pasta cooking water. Bring to a simmer and cook until sauce is combined and thickened, 2-3 minutes.

Finish & Serve
6

• Add drained spaghetti and 1 TBSP butter (2 TBSP for 4 servings) to pan with sauce; toss to combine. Season with salt and pepper. If needed, stir in more reserved pasta cooking water a splash at a time until pasta is coated in a creamy sauce. • Divide pasta between bowls, top with Parmesan, and serve.

Review summary

Updated on Sep 2026
  • Flavor: The creamy Parmesan sauce is bright and satisfying, with lemon adding a fresh lift that even kale skeptics enjoyed 🍋. Some found it a touch bland; adding extra garlic, red pepper flakes, or sun-dried tomatoes boosted the flavor nicely.
  • Ease of prep: Most found this quick and easy to pull together on a weeknight, though timing all components to finish at once took a little practice.
  • Suggestions: Use all the Tuscan Heat Spice rather than half if you prefer bolder flavor, and double the garlic for more depth. Add reserved pasta water gradually to keep the sauce creamy rather than dry.
  • Leftovers: This dish reheats well and makes enough for multiple meals; one reviewer even turned leftovers into a delicious soup the next day.
  • Kale: Remove large stems before cooking — they stay tough and chewy even after wilting; some swapped in spinach for a more tender result, and others added extra kale for a heartier dish.

This meal was so delicious. We never thought to add kale to our spaghetti. The seasoning for the chicken made the meal one of the best tasting chicken meals we have had from HelloFresh. Made our top 3 favorite meals.

Didn't think I would enjoy it with kale, but adding the garlic made it flavorful. Then pairing it with the chicken seasoned with a touch of spice (Tuscan Seasoning) made it a great meal.

Loved this. Cooking the kale made it so tasty in this pasta. Unfortunately we were missing the Tuscan heat seasoning but we used Italian seasoning with a little chili flake instead.

This meal was nice and fresh. The lemon gave the kale a nice refreshing zing to offset the subtle kick of the chickens heat.

This was incredibly good. Very good flavor, loved the light lemony taste with the tuscan seasoned chicken. My son approves too! Great for the whole family

Two of my favorites in one: tuscan chicken and pasta w/kale. Absolutely loved this recipe. Will always be one of my first picks for the week. So healthy but loaded with great flavors.

This one is a keeper! For those who have yet to find a palatable kale recipe, this one is it. The sauce was delicious and it made enough for two lunches later.

Overall it was good. It needs more cream sauce. I added a little pasta water as directed and it thinned the sauce but still barely covered everything. I also would prefer spinach to kale and I like Badia seasoning to the Tuscan Fire seasoning. I'd have to be several changes minor to make it a 4* for me.

Very good. The spice was not included so I created my own with Italian spices and red pepper flakes. I am finding that if I add pasta to make a bigger meal, it is ideal for me and my husband with his big appetite. I also added Steak Seasoning to the chicken for more flavor. Delicious. I will order this again.

Yes! The lemon is key and really chop the kale finely.
