Wash and dry all produce. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Trim and discard the bottom inch from the broccolini, then cut into 1-inch pieces. Remove the sausage from the casings.
Boil the pasta: Add the pasta to the boiling water and cook for 9-11 minutes, until al dente. Drain, reserving ½ cup pasta water.
Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the broccolini and cook, tossing for 5-7 minutes, until tender. Season with salt and pepper. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Heat another drizzle of olive oil in the same pan over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook, breaking up the meat into pieces for 4-5 minutes, until browned and cooked through. Add a pinch of chili flakes to the pan (if desired) and cook for 30 seconds more.
Toss and serve: Add the pasta, broccolini, parmesan cheese, pasta water, and ¼ cup pesto to the pan and toss to combine. Cook, tossing for 1-2 minutes, until a sauce has formed. Season with salt and pepper. Enjoy!
