Cooking Oil

• In a small pot, combine rice, 1¼ cups water (2¼ cups for 4 servings), and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce to a low simmer. Cook until rice is tender, 15-18 minutes. Keep covered off heat until ready to serve.
Swap in brown rice for white rice; use 1¾ cups water (3½ cups for 4 servings) and a pinch of salt. Cook for 20-25 minutes. (Save white rice for another use.)

• While rice cooks, wash and dry produce. • Cut broccoli into bite-size pieces if necessary. Trim and thinly slice scallions, separating whites from greens.

• Heat a large drizzle of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add broccoli; season with half the garlic powder (you’ll use the rest in the next step), a big pinch of salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and tender, 5-7 minutes. • Turn off heat; transfer to a plate. Wipe out pan.

• While broccoli cooks, rinse shrimp* under cold water, then pat dry with paper towels. Season all over with remaining garlic powder, salt, and pepper. • Heat a drizzle of oil in same pan over high heat. Add shrimp and scallion whites; cook, stirring occasionally, until shrimp are opaque and cooked through, 3-4 minutes.

• Place spicy mayo in a small bowl. Add water 1 tsp at a time until mixture reaches a drizzling consistency. Season with salt and pepper.

• Fluff rice with a fork; taste and season with salt and pepper. • Divide rice between shallow bowls; top with shrimp and broccoli in separate sections. Drizzle shrimp with spicy mayo; sprinkle bowls with scallion greens and sesame seeds. Serve.
Shrimp are fully cooked when internal temperature reaches 145°.
The Sizzlin' Shrimp Bowls with Spicy Mayo were absolutely delicious. This was our first time trying. The seasoning for the shrimp was fantastic, and they only take a couple of minutes to cook! Everyone loved it, a BIG hit!
Tasty and easy dish. The spicy mayo adds a good touch that some of the other similar shrimp dishes don't have. A good additional burst of flavor.
This meal is delicious! Love the tanginess of the mayo, and like that the portion of shrimp isn't skimpy.
The shrimp with spicy mayo was delicious. There was a lot of rice, though. Could have been half the amount. The broccoli with garlic powder was tasty.
I will definitely order this again. We aren't huge fans of sesame seeds, so I sautéed the broccoli and shrimp in toasted sesame oil instead: this gave us the flavor without the seeds-great meal!
My dear friend and I made this recipe together for lunch, we loved it. The broccoli was very fresh, I think we could have enjoyed more scallions with the zesty mayo on the sautéed shrimp and quick cooking white rice. I was really excited to be eating a yummy shrimp dish. My friend and I worked together seamlessly because it was easy to make and we were very hungry! Today's lunch was fun and delicious!
Didn't like the tiny sesame seeds. They kept getting between my teeth, even well after dinner. I loved the rice and broccoli and the garlicy shrimp. The mayo sauce tasted good. Wonder how a Sriracha mayo would be? I liked the kick the sauce added. Jasmine rice would be so good!
Excellent! ... and easy to prepare. Only modifications I made were to thin spicy mayo with lemon juice rather than water and to toast the sesame seeds.
A little more spicy mayo would have been nice. I tossed the broccoli and shrimp together in soy sauce before plating. This added more flavor.
This almost reminds me of a bang bang shrimp. You can add some red pepper flakes. Also, I toasted the sesame seeds. Instructions as an option would be good for others because toasting the seeds brings out a more nutty flavor.
