Place sealed bag in microwave on high for 6-7 minutes. Let bag cool for 2 minutes.
Place potatoes in a bowl. Add ¼ cup water or milk and 1-2 TBSP black truffle butter to taste. Mash potatoes with a potato masher or fork until smooth. Season with a big pinch of salt and pepper to taste. (TIP: Add more splashes of water or milk for a creamier texture.)
STOVETOP ALTERNATIVE: Place potatoes in a large pot with enough salted water to cover by 2 inches. Bring to a boil, then cook until potatoes are easily pierced with a fork, 15-18 minutes. Mash potatoes with a potato masher or fork until smooth. If needed, add a splash of water or milk until smooth. Stir in 1-2 TBSP black truffle butter to taste. Season with salt and pepper to taste. (TIP: Add more splashes of water or milk for a creamier texture.)
