Cheesy Truffle Arancini
with Marinara Sauce | 4-6 Servings
If you like risotto and fried things (we do!), then you’ll love arancini. These little fried risotto balls also include mushrooms, Parmesan, fontina cheese, and black truffle. A panko breadcrumb coating makes for a crispy exterior. All you have to do is cook and enjoy. Mangia!

Review summary
Updated on Dec 2025- Flavor: Many found it bland, with mixed opinions on the truffle — some felt it overpowering, others couldn't taste it at all.
- Ease of prep: Quick and easy to prepare, with some preferring air frying for better texture.
- Suggestions: Consider adding salt and extra seasoning to boost flavor. Serve with a flavorful dipping sauce for more taste.
- Texture: Some found the interior too mushy or grainy; try cooking longer for a crispier exterior.

Good texture overall, and the cheese inside was smooth and flavorful. However, it overpowered the mushroom taste, which I was hoping to notice more. It didn't come with any marinara sauce, maybe it was forgotten? A good dipping sauce could've really brought this dish together.

The texture left a bit to be desired. If I get them again I think I'll heat them up a bit in the air fryer and then pan fry them. They need a bit of crunch. The marinara was very basic but I added spices and a bit of cream and it was serviceable.

It's like a risotto ball in light breadcrumbs, excellent light dinner with a side salad.
