Cooking Steps

Prep
1
  • Adjust rack to top position and preheat oven to 450 degrees. Wash and dry produce.

  • Halve, core, and thinly slice bell pepper into strips. Halve ciabatta.

Bake Sausage & Pepper
2
  • In oven-ready tray, combine sausage*, bell pepper, and marinara (for 4 servings, evenly divide ingredients between two trays). Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt.

  • Bake on top rack (be sure your oven has preheated!) until bell pepper has softened and sausage is cooked through, 30-33 minutes. (For 4, bake two trays side by side on top rack.)

Toast Bread
3
  • When sausage bake has 5 minutes left, toast ciabatta. Spread cut sides with half the pesto; halve on a diagonal.

Finish & Serve
4
  • Once sausage is cooked through, evenly top sausage bake with Italian cheese blend. Return to top rack and bake until cheese melts, 30-60 seconds.

  • Top sausage bake with as much remaining pesto as you like. Serve family style with pesto toast on the side.
