Halve, core, and thinly slice apple. Slice baguette crosswise into 8-10 rounds. Spread slices out on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil; season with salt and pepper. Toast on middle rack until golden brown, 5-10 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine crème fraîche and one packet of honey in a small bowl; season with salt and pepper. Spread honey crème fraîche on toasted baguette slices and top with apple slices. Drizzle with remaining honey and lightly season with salt. Serve immediately.
This was a fun treat that was quick and easy to make. Very tasty recipe! And we LOVE the fresh ingredients. We added two packs of honey to the crème fraîche for an extra sweet treat. The portions were perfect.
I don't cook and I was able to make this very easily. I'll be honest, I was a bit nervous when I saw how small the portion of bread is, but once you add the honey creme fraiche and apple, there was plenty. It was SOOOOO good and definitely a recipe I'll be using in the future!
This was a quick appetizer to prepare. The flavor of the creme fraiche mixed with the honey was really good. Adding the apples and more honey was delicious. Will order again.
We skipped all the spots where it said to add salt and pepper and the gentle sweetness of the honey and creme fraiche make for a light dessert. (Side note: turned the apple slices in a small amount of lemon juice so that they would not turn brown).
I have added this almost every week because there is something about the crème fraîche, honey and the fresh apple on the toasted baguette that is so good!
Easy to prep, and crème fraîche/honey combo tasted like a high-end honey-flavored yogurt. It was sooo delicious!
YUM YUM YUUUMMM! I did not expect to love it so much! Instead of using plain olive oil when I toasted the bread, I used French vanilla and maple flavored olive oil, and this turned out AMAZING! Plus, crème fraiche was the perfect creamy spread for this and the apple/honey was a great topping!
Added smoked Gouda goat cheese and melted it a little then added the apple then fraiche with honey. Didn't add any extra honey and it came out amazing!!
I'm usually not a fan of plain crème fraiche but mixing it with the honey was great. Loved this as a decadent snack.
I believe the type of honey and the creme fraiche clashed. The honey was too sweet and paired with the apple it just took away from the overall flavors. The time that was stated on the instructions for toasting the bread overtoasted the bread therefore making the entire combination not so great.
