What’s the “wonder” in “wonderburger,” you ask? It’s all in the texture! The crispy, craggy edges, achieved when balls of beef are pressed down in a hot pan with a spatula to create super-thin, crispy burgers. Topped with gooey white cheddar, the patties are sandwiched between potato buns with caramelized onion and a homemade special sauce that’s also perfect for pairing with Old Bay fries on the side—and will elicit major “oohs” and “ahhs” from your dining companions.
12 ounce
Potatoes
1 unit
Onion
½ cup
White Cheddar Cheese
(Contains: Milk)
8 ounce
Broccoli
1 tablespoon
Old Bay Seasoning
1 unit
Ketchup
2 tablespoon
Mayonnaise
(Contains: Eggs)
10 ounce
Ground Beef
2 unit
Potato Buns
(Contains: Soy, Wheat)
2 teaspoon

4 teaspoon (tsp)
Cooking Oil
1 teaspoon (tsp)
Sugar

• Adjust rack to top position and preheat oven to 425 degrees. Wash and dry produce. • Cut potatoes into ½-inch-thick wedges. Halve, peel, and thinly slice onion.
Cut broccoli florets into bite-size pieces if necessary. (Save potatoes for another use.)

• Toss potatoes on a baking sheet with a drizzle of oil and half the Old Bay Seasoning (you’ll use more later). Season lightly with salt and pepper. TIP: No need to season generously— there’s already salt and pepper in the seasoning! • Roast on top rack until browned and crispy, 20-25 minutes.
Swap in broccoli for potatoes; roast until browned and tender, 15-20 minutes.

• While potatoes roast, heat a large drizzle of oil in a medium, preferably nonstick, pan over medium-high heat. Add onion; cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and softened, 8-10 minutes. • Add 1 tsp sugar (2 tsp for 4 servings) and a splash of water; cook until onion is caramelized and jammy, 2-3 minutes more. Season with salt and pepper. • Turn off heat; transfer to a small bowl.

• Meanwhile, in a second small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and as much remaining Old Bay Seasoning as you like. Set aside. • Form beef* into two equal-size balls (four balls for 4 servings); season all over with salt and pepper.

• Heat a drizzle of oil in pan used for onion over medium-high heat. Once pan is hot, add beef. Firmly flatten each ball with a spatula to create very thin patties. (TIP: Do so carefully; oil may splatter a bit.) Cook to desired doneness, 3-4 minutes per side. (Don’t worry if the patties aren’t perfectly round—those irregular edges will turn crispy.) • In the last 1-2 minutes of cooking, top patties with cheddar; cover pan to melt cheese. Remove from heat.

• While patties cook, halve and toast buns. • Divide buns between plates and fill with patties, caramelized onion, and half the special sauce. Serve burgers with Old Bay fries on the side and remaining special sauce for dipping.
Ground Beef is fully cooked when internal temperature reaches 160°.
I love how simple quick and easy this meal was to make. The simple flavors are great! The onions, white cheddar, simple patty and simple sauce are fantastic!! I will be making this one in repeat!
A+ ... I tweaked the recipe a bit by also adding part of the Old Bay to the burgers. Stuffed the meat with the cheese before we grilled them (not fried on the stove top) and added a slice of cheese to the top (of course, you can omit extra slice of cheese). One of the best burgers I've ever had!!!!! The potatoes and sauce were delicious, as well!!!
These Wonderburgers are excellent! The caramelized onions and sauce are the perfect complement! On top of my "buy again" list! Also other family members and friends that use Hello Fresh have put them at the top of their lists!
These burgers were awesome. The first time I ever caramelized onions and it worked so well with the Old Bay sauce.
The burger just kind of tasted generic. Cooking down the onions in the oil just left them tasting like oil. The special sauce didn't really add much to flavor. I wasn't sure why this burger didn't have like a patty mix like the BBQ cheddar burger which had a ton more flavor. I also didn't get the point of not preforming the patties and pressing them in the oil.
This might've been the best burger I've ever made at home, with as close to an "animal styled" grilled onion, potato wedges and almost Chick fila sauce included in the ingredients. My mouth is still watering.
This was one of the easier meals to make. The hamburger buns were flavorful. The caramelized onions were amazing. Loved this meal
I still do not understand how to caramelize onions :D. Was eating caramelized coals. Would be great to give more info on that, for such newbies as me. Otherwise great recipe
It was good burger. The old bay fries are awesome never would have thought to add old bay seasoning and baking it in oven was less oily then restaurants and so very delicious and easy to make
The old bay flavor made these fries go from an 8 to a 10! Excellent flavor with the burgers and we loved the special sauce.
