Finding yourself in a meatloaf rut? Enter: this sweet and savory version. First, we blend ground turkey with BBQ seasoning, scallions, and crispy panko breadcrumbs. Next, we form the mixture into mini loaves so everyone gets their own. The pièce de résistance? We swap out the usual ketchup glaze for BBQ sauce that’s laced with smoky chipotle powder and tangy orange juice. Add sides of cheesy potato wedges and roasted green beans, and your routine meat-and-spuds dinner doesn’t stand a chance.

Produced in a facility that processes eggs, milk, fish, peanuts, sesame, shellfish, soy, tree nuts, and wheat.

Cooking Steps

Prep
1

• Adjust rack to top position (top and middle positions for 4 servings) and preheat oven to 425 degrees. Wash and dry all produce. • Cut potatoes into ½-inch-thick wedges. Trim green beans if necessary. Trim and thinly slice scallions, separating whites from greens; mince whites. Halve orange.

Roast Potatoes
2

• Toss potatoes on one side of a lightly oiled baking sheet with a large drizzle of oil, salt, and pepper. (For 4 servings, spread potatoes out across entire sheet.) • Roast on top rack for 10 minutes (you’ll add more to the sheet then).

Form Loaves & Make Glaze
3

• Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine panko with 2 tsp water (4 tsp for 4 servings) until water has absorbed. Add turkey*, BBQ Seasoning, scallion whites, ¾ tsp salt (1½ tsp for 4), and a pinch of pepper. • Form into two 1-inch-tall loaves (four loaves for 4). TIP: Wet your hands (or drizzle with oil) first to prevent sticking. • In a small bowl, combine BBQ sauce, a big squeeze of orange juice, and chipotle powder to taste. Taste and season with salt; add more orange juice and chipotle powder if desired.

Roast Loaves & Beans
4

• Once potatoes have roasted 10 minutes, remove sheet from oven. Carefully add green beans to empty side; using tongs, toss with a drizzle of oil, salt, and pepper. (For 4 servings, leave potatoes roasting; add meatloaves and green beans to a second, lightly oiled sheet. Roast on middle rack.) • Place meatloaves on same side of sheet as green beans. • Roast on top rack for 15 minutes (you’ll glaze the meatloaves then).

Add Cheese & Glaze
5

• Once meatloaves and green beans have roasted 15 minutes, remove sheet from oven. • Push potatoes together so they’re overlapping; sprinkle with Monterey Jack. • Brush tops of meatloaves with 1 TBSP glaze each (save the rest for serving). • Return to oven until meatloaves are cooked through, glaze is tacky, cheese has melted, and beans are tender, 2-3 minutes more.

Serve
6

• Divide meatloaves, potatoes, and green beans between plates. Drizzle meatloaves with any remaining glaze from bowl. Garnish with scallion greens and serve.

  • Suggestions: Consider adding an egg or reducing panko for moister meatloaves. Cook potatoes longer for crispiness.

  • Texture: Some found the turkey meatloaves dry or dense; others praised their tenderness when not overcooked.

Sometimes ground turkey can be bland but not at all with this recipe. The barbecue sauce accented by chipotle and the squeeze of orange juice made a great glaze. We used extra orange slices to drizzle over meatloaf. Add to that green beans and cheesy potatoes and dinner was great.

We LOVED this recipe! The cheesy potato wedges were so good and we loved the turkey meatloaves! The turkey seasoning kind of had a smoky flavor to it, I would have loved to try it with a sweet barbecue flavor.

These were fabulous. The meatloaves turned out kind of dense, but still packed with flavor. The chipotle orange bbq sauce was a perfect compliment...a little heat but sweet, too. Sweet and smoky and worked well with everything.

This was way tastier than we thought it would be, and we did not think it would be bad or anything... just pleasantly surprised by the sauce and way the green beans and potatoes vibed with the turkey loaf. Def will order again! Also one pan dinners are super convenient. Mmm!!

The recipe called for too much salt, I would halve it if I order this one again. The texture of the meatloaf was great though, and I loved the glaze. The potato wedges were awesome as well. The green beans were a miss, I don't think they came to us at optimal freshness.

Loved this recipe! Turkey is that meat that's always slept on. I would have cooked the potatoes longer than what the recipe said because we like them crispy but they still turned out great! 10/10

Accidentally swapped BBQ sauce and BBQ spice, so meatloaves cooked longer due to all the liquid in them. Orange juice with spices made everything really "kick" - added it to potatoes and green beans on tray when added to meatloaves. Gave a great taste to everything - a 'good' mistake. :-)

Very tasty, I added a spoonful of orange zest to the meatloaf mix. That was nice!

I liked the Turkey meatloaf but the sauce was really hot. We put a little of the chipotle powder in at a time but it never seemed to get hot. But after you cook it the heat really sets in. It also took much longer to cook the veggies than the recipe said. But ovens are all different.
