Cooking Steps

1

Keep frozen or refrigerated until ready to eat.

2

RECOMMENDED: Bring a pot of water to a boil. Place bag in pot; cook for 20 minutes, then carefully remove. (Caution: Bag will be very hot.) Cut one corner with scissors and pour into serving bowl.

3

ALTERNATIVELY: Cut one corner of the bag; pour mac and cheese into a microwave-safe container. (Do not microwave in cup.) Cover loosely with microwave-safe plastic wrap or a paper towel. Microwave on high, stirring halfway through, 5-6 minutes. (Caution: Container and mac and cheese will be very hot.)

4

GARLIC BREAD: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place garlic bread on a lightly-oiled baking sheet. Bake until golden brown, about 12 minutes. Separate garlic bread into slices and serve.

Review summary

Updated on Sep 2026
  • Flavor: The white cheddar sauce is rich and creamy, drawing frequent Panera comparisons 🧀; some found it bland or slightly sweet, and a few detected an off or sour aftertaste.
  • Ease of prep: Heating is simple, but the boil-in-bag method surprised some — the microwave option is quicker and works well if you prefer it.
  • Suggestions: Bake the mac and cheese in a dish with extra cheese or breadcrumbs on top for a golden, crispier result; adding bacon bits or fresh chives also boosts flavor. For the garlic bread, slicing it before a few extra minutes in the oven gives a better toasted finish.
  • Leftovers: Leftovers reheat easily and make a convenient next-day lunch, though the sauce can thicken considerably after cooling.
  • Texture: Many noted the pasta was mushy and the sauce too thin or soupy; those who baked it in the oven found the texture improved significantly.

Mac and cheese was pretty good! I added it in a buttered dish and baked it for a few minutes to add a little flavor and it was great. The garlic bread was pretty good but turns out better if you cook for 10 min, cut it in slices, then toast the cut slices for a few minutes extra

The mac & cheese is DELICIOUS!!! So creamy and good, loved it. The garlic bread is not overly garlicy, which is nice. Great flavors and such a comfort food. Perfect!

This mac is soooo good. I buy it every chance I get. Makes a great side dish, meal in itself or a late night snack. Easy to heat and pairs wonderfully with the garlic bread.

Simple but delicious & filling! We'd never made garlic bread with mac & cheese before, so it was a brilliant combination.

That garlic bread had the perfect amount of seasoning, and the Mac and cheese was creamy, flavorful.

Mac and cheese was very runny with too much sauce. Could have had more shell pasta. Flavor was good. Garlic bread is always good. Have had it before.

The Mac was creamy and delicious. My very picky five year old ate it up. The garlic bread really wasn't all that garlicky and was more crust than bread

The Mac and cheese is surprisingly good! Plain might not be best, but we added small bacon bits and crispy onion strings with a little salt and it was wonderful. The bread...how do I make it with every meal?! Delicious!
