There are a lot of burger recipes out there, we know. But we like to think our chefs know how to come up with ones that top them all. This is one of those great ones thanks to oozy, melty Monterey Jack cheese and jammy balsamic onions. Oh, and we should mention that this patty comes with seasoned oven fries on the side, because how could we not?

Produced in a facility that processes eggs, milk, fish, peanuts, sesame, shellfish, soy, tree nuts, and wheat.

Cooking Steps

Prep
1

• Adjust rack to top position and preheat oven to 425 degrees. Wash and dry produce. • Cut potatoes into ½-inch-thick wedges. Halve, peel, and thinly slice onion. Peel and mince or grate half the garlic (all for 4 servings).

Cut broccoli into bite-size pieces if necessary. (Save potatoes for another use.)

Roast Potatoes
2

• Toss potatoes on a baking sheet with a drizzle of oil, half the Fry Seasoning (all for 4 servings), salt, and pepper. • Roast on top rack until browned and crispy, 20-25 minutes.

Swap in broccoli for potatoes; roast 12-15 minutes.

Make Onion Jam
3

• Meanwhile, heat a drizzle of oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add onion; cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and softened, 8-10 minutes. TIP: If onion begins to brown too quickly, add a splash of water. • Stir in vinegar and 1 tsp sugar (2 tsp for 4 servings). Continue cooking until onion is caramelized and jammy, 2-3 minutes more. Season with salt and pepper. • Turn off heat; transfer to a small bowl. Wash out pan.

Make Garlic Mayo
4

• In a second small bowl, combine mayonnaise with a pinch of garlic (taste and add more from there if desired). Season with salt and pepper.

Cook Patties
5

• Form beef* into two patties (four patties for 4 servings), each slightly wider than a burger bun. Season all over with salt and pepper. • Heat a drizzle of oil in pan used for onion over medium-high heat. Add patties; cook to desired doneness, 3-5 minutes per side. • In the last 1-2 minutes of cooking, top each patty with Monterey Jack; cover pan to melt cheese.

Finish & Serve
6

• Halve buns and toast until golden. • Spread cut sides of buns with ketchup and garlic mayo to taste. Fill with patties and as much onion jam as you like. Serve with potato wedges on the side.

Ground Beef is fully cooked when internal temperature reaches 160°.

So good!!!! I usually make thin smash double burgers so I was a little hesitant to make these but the onion jam and mayo and the burger were all so good we cleaned our plates. My husband always likes a fried egg on his burger and didn't even need it. So good. Will definitely do this again!! Thank you!

Beautiful and full of flavor! Normally my home cooked burgers just turn out "meh" and usually I don't like burger night. I was skeptical upon choosing this dish but my goodness I am so glad I did! If I could give any criticism, it would be the bun made the burger very filling- almost too much that I felt I may not be able to finish it. I loved the robust flavor of everything for this dish.

Burgers were great and a good size but they'd be even better with a leaner beef. Flavor was excellent. Plenty of cheese. I loved making the onion jam & garlic mayo. Even my husband enjoyed the jam. Leaner beef is the only thing to improve it.

These were pretty good. I live alone, so cook once and eat twice. I had the second burger for lunch the next day, bunless. I used the bun the next night to make garlic toast for a pasta meal. I also subbed broccoli for the potatoes.

Really delicious, I would use a diff bun next time, a softer one, but the mayo and onion jam YUM. It mentions the broccoli, it came with it but it's never used on the steps of the recipe, I just roasted it.

Great tasting burgers, reminds me a little of Red Robin flavors. We enjoyed the potatoes too!

Tasted great and was filling. A bit too sloppy though, with the cooked onions and melted cheese.
