Large Pan

Cooking Steps

START PORK
1
  • Massage rice package to break up grains. Break broccoli florets into smaller pieces if needed.

  • Heat a large drizzle of oil in a large, preferrably nonstick pan over medium-high heat. Add pork and season with salt and pepper. Cook, breaking up meat into pieces, until pork begins to lightly brown, 3 minutes (pork will finish cooking in the next step).

COOK BROCCOLI & RICE
2
  • Add another drizzle of oil, broccoli, and rice to pan with pork and season with a big pinch of salt and pepper. Stir to combine. Add 1/4 cup water and cover pan. Cook, covered and undisturbed, until broccoli is tender and rice is warmed through, 3-4 minutes.

SERVE
3
  • Remove pan from heat. Add ginger, garlic, and scallion paste to pan and stir to combine. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Divide between bowls.

Review summary

Updated on Dec 2025
  • Flavor: Many found it bland; adding extra ginger-scallion paste, soy sauce, or spices like garlic powder boosted flavor 🌶️.
  • Ease of prep: Praised for being quick and easy to make, perfect for busy nights with minimal cleanup.
  • Suggestions: Consider doubling the sauce, adding soy sauce or sesame oil, and incorporating fresh ginger for more punch.
  • Portions: Some felt there was too much broccoli compared to other ingredients, overpowering the dish's taste.
  • Texture: A few noted the rice was dry; adding more water during cooking or using fresh rice improved the consistency.
