Cooking Steps

1

FRY:

  1. Heat 1 TBSP cooking oil in a large pan over high heat. Add gyoza, flat sides down, and ⅓ cup water (be careful of splatter!); cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium and cook until water evaporates and bottoms are crispy, 5-6 minutes.
  2. Serve with gyoza sauce on the side for dipping.
2

BOIL:

  1. Bring a medium pot of water to a boil. (Swap in chicken broth for water if you have some on hand!)
  2. Add gyoza and cook until warmed through, 3 to 5 minutes.
  3. Serve with gyoza sauce on the side for dipping.
3

MICROWAVE:

  1. Place gyoza on a microwave-safe plate and cover with a wet paper towel.
  2. Microwave until warmed through, 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Serve with gyoza sauce on the side for dipping.

Review summary

Updated on Sep 2026
  • Flavor: The gyoza filling is tasty and well-stuffed, but many found it mild on its own — the dipping sauce is essential, and quite a few preferred swapping it for a soy-based or rice-vinegar-and-chili-oil sauce.
  • Ease of prep: Pan-frying is quick, but several reviewers found the gyoza stuck to the pan or turned soggy; the air fryer consistently delivered crispy, restaurant-quality results 🎉.
  • Suggestions: For the pan-fry method, brown in oil first, then add water to steam — adding oil and water together prevents a proper crispy bottom. If the included sauce feels too sweet or bland, mix in soy sauce, a splash of rice vinegar, and chili oil to bring it closer to a traditional gyoza dipping sauce.
  • Leftovers: These freeze well and reheat nicely in the air fryer, making them a great on-the-go snack to keep on hand.

The gyoza were good but the instructions weren't to create a pan fried gyoza as illustrated but a steamed gyoza. I changed the cooking to steam & fry them and that worked well. The sauce was very disappointing. We added a bit of shoyu and it was much improved. If I'd had a bit of toasted sesame oil it would've been about right.

Better than anticipated! Flavor of filling was good, perfect portion for three people as an appetizer before our fried rice dinner. Gyoza sauce was really good. Sadly, it was far superior to our local Asian restaurant's dumplings! I would order yours again.

Yummy side dish, perfectly complimented the bulgogi lettuce boats. The shiitake were a delicious pairing with the pork.

Solid pre-packaged gyoza. The dumpling was delicious. No single ingredient overpowered the dumplings, and the gyoza sauce was perfection.

These are great! I actually didn't see that they came with a dipping sauce, so I made my own gyoza sauce for them. Both were good. :D I forgot I had these, and we didn't have any snacks, so they saved the day since gyoza is a favorite of ours! <3

These are delicious and easy to prepare. Sometimes I just need something simple and this fit the bill. Good flavors in the gyoza and the dipping sauce.

As with the soy garlic saucy noodles, which we ate with the gyoza, these were very good, compared with my otherwise mixed-bag experiences with almost-ready to eat meals--will order again!

Bland - sauce was watery. Do not recommend microwaving gyoza, may be better fried

These are great. I buy extra and keep them in the freezer for when I want to grab something fast. They're full of filling. Not the type of gyoza where it's half air.
