Cooking Steps

Prep
1

• Bring a medium pot (large pot for 4 servings) of salted water to a boil. Wash and dry produce. • Cut broccoli into bite-size pieces if necessary. Zest and quarter lime.

Cook Noodles
2

• Once water is boiling, add noodles to pot. Cook, stirring occasionally, until al dente, 5-7 minutes, then drain.

Cook Chicken & Broccoli
3

• While noodles cook, open package of chicken* and drain off any excess liquid. • Heat a large drizzle of oil in a large pan over medium- high heat. Add chicken and broccoli; season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until chicken is browned and cooked through and broccoli is tender, 4-6 minutes. TIP: If your broccoli isn’t bright green after 2-3 minutes, cover the pan to help it cook! • Remove pan from heat. Add sweet soy glaze, chili sauce, 1 TBSP butter (2 TBSP for 4 servings), and as many chili flakes as you like (we used 1⁄2 tsp; 1 tsp for 4); stir to combine.

Finish & Serve
4

• To pan with chicken and broccoli, add drained noodles, lime zest, and juice from half the lime; toss to coat. Taste and season with salt. • Divide chicken lo mein between shallow bowls. Serve with remaining lime wedges on the side.

Chicken is fully cooked when internal temperature reaches 165°.

Review summary

Updated on Feb 2026
  • Flavor: Many enjoyed the sweet and spicy balance, though some found it too sweet; adding extra chili flakes or sauce boosted flavor 🌶️.
  • Ease of prep: Quick and simple to make, with minimal chopping required; great for busy weeknights or beginners.
  • Suggestions: Consider adding more veggies like carrots or bell peppers; some recommend toasting the peanuts for extra crunch.
  • Portions: Several felt the dish needed more sauce to coat ingredients well; a few wanted larger portions overall.
  • Texture: Some found the noodles became sticky or mushy; cooking them less than directed may help maintain texture.

This 20 minute meal was the perfect on the go dinner. Easy prep and just as advertised ready to serve in 20 minutes. To top it all off it was delicious. The mixture of sweet and spicy along with tender chicken, noodles and broccoli was extremely satisfying. We will definitely have this in our cart when we have another busy week and need a quick meal.

I only used a dollop of the sweet Thai chili sauce and didn't use the Korean chili flakes at all, because I am very sensitive to spicy foods. This was great as just sweet & very low spicy chicken lo mein. Definitely getting again!

Good meal and flavor, but cooking instructions led to overcooking the lo mein noodles. I followed the time recommendations and the noodles were overcooked. I would have rather cooked the noodles for three minutes, then start mixing in the sauces and butter over low heat, followed by adding in cooked chicken and broccoli slowly so that the noodles stay in tact.

This lo mein was easy and full of flavor. Easy to make. We added some carrots to add some color.

Yum! I wasn't sure that lime would go well with the spicy/broccoli ingredients but this was so good. Hope it shows up again!

Not as spicy as I like and sweeter than any lo mein I've ordered but it was still very good.

I love Lo Mein and most Chinese food. This is excellent and not too spicy.

Maybe wait a couple of minutes before adding broccoli. Chicken needs longer to cook so broccoli is overdone if added at same time as chicken. Good recipe otherwise!!

I think there needs to be a step after cooking the chicken and broccoli to drain the pan. I didn't, added the sauce, and the consistency was very thin. I ended up adding cornstarch to try to thicken it.

Really good! I recommend cutting the chicken into smaller pieces & browning it BEFORE adding the broccoli!
