Cooking Steps

Cook Rice
1

• Adjust rack to top position and preheat oven to 425 degrees. Wash and dry produce. • In a small pot, combine rice, ¾ cup water (1½ cups for 4 servings), and a big pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce to a low simmer. Cook until rice is tender, 15-18 minutes. • Keep covered off heat until ready to serve.

Heat a drizzle of oil in a small pot over medium-high heat. Add cauliflower rice (no need to drain), and a large pinch of salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until tender, 6-8 minutes. Turn off heat; stir in 1 TBSP butter (2 TBSP for 4) until melted. Keep covered off heat until ready to serve.

Roast Green Beans
2

• While rice cooks, trim green beans if necessary. Toss on a baking sheet with a drizzle of oil, salt, and pepper. • Roast on top rack until golden brown and tender, 12-15 minutes.

Prep & Make Sauce
3

• Meanwhile, trim and thinly slice scallions, separating whites from greens. Peel and mince ginger. • In a small bowl, combine hoisin, honey, 2 TBSP water (3 TBSP for 4 servings), and Sriracha to taste.

Cook Chicken
4

• Pat chicken* dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper. • Heat a large drizzle of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken in a single layer and cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and almost cooked through, 3-5 minutes.

Coat Chicken
5

• Once chicken is browned, add scallion whites and ginger to pan. Cook until fragrant, 1 minute. • Pour in hoisin honey sauce. Cook until sauce has thickened and chicken is coated and cooked through, 2-3 minutes. Turn off heat.

Finish & Serve
6

• Fluff rice with a fork and season with salt and pepper. TIP: For extra flavor, stir in 1 TBSP butter; 2 TBSP for 4 servings. • Divide rice, green beans, and chicken between plates. Garnish with scallion greens and sesame seeds. Serve.

Chicken is fully cooked when internal temperature reaches 165°.

Review summary

Updated on Feb 2026
  • Flavor: Many loved the delicious hoisin-honey sauce, though some found it a bit too sweet; consider adding rice vinegar for balance.
  • Ease of prep: Quick and easy to make, perfect for weeknight dinners. Some appreciated the option to substitute cauliflower rice 🍚.
  • Suggestions: Consider adding cashews or almonds for crunch. Try sautéing green beans instead of roasting for more flavor.
  • Portions: Several mentioned chicken portions were small; some wanted more vegetables to make the meal more filling.
  • Texture: Some found the chicken pieces too small and uneven; larger, more uniform cuts would improve the dish.

Delicious meal. I love the spice of the hoisin & the honey to calm it down a little. We subbed out the rice for the cauliflower rice & it was amazing. We will do that everytime. Please always offer this - i loved it!

We love spicy dishes and this one hit the spot. Easy prep and short cook time made it taste even better. I did request cauliflower rice in place of the jasmine, but received the jasmine anyway. Worked out, hubby ate that rice and i had the green beans.

Huge hit in our house, but not so much for the person doing clean-up. 😆 Made gluten-free by making a simple GF hoisin sauce with stuff I had on-hand, but otherwise, made as instructed. I was suprised how quickly the family ate this all up, and even our picky youngest was obsessed with the crisped green beans.

Very good. I would have swapped the rice for cauliflower rice but it was still good. Pretty easy to make. Sauce was good but a little thin at first. We thickened it up. Would recommend.

So delicious! I love that you offer cauliflower rice!!! I eat low carb but my husband likes regular rice better so it was WONDERFUL that you still included the real rice. I usually have rice at hand but yours are portioned better and include the directions.

Really good! I would have prefere to cust the green beans after it cooked and add it to the chicken. The server over rice / or cauliflower.

I steamed the green beans because they are usually old and don't translate well when roasted. I also chopped them up after steaming to aldenté and added to the pot. Flavor could have been a bit stronger.

Oh my gosh so deliciously!!! The green beans were bad though so we had those use our own from our pantry.
