Chicken Empanadas
(Contains: Wheat)
Keep refrigerated until ready to eat; best if used within 10 days.
Adjust rack to middle position and preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Remove plastic and place empanadas on prepared sheet; bake on middle rack until golden brown.
Bake until golden brown, 6-8 minutes. (Note: Oven times may vary.)
The dough was good and baking it had a nice texture but it was lacking flavor on the inside and the texture tasted somewhat mushy. I'm Puerto Rican and my grandma and my mom make empanadas from scratch. My grandma always said that as good as the dough is, the filling is what matters and the filling wasn't there for me. Not sure if it was mixed with beans but there's something that made it mushy and it could definitely use more flavor.
Made this with the Rice and Black Beans as the kids weren't home and it was just the husband and I. Perfect dinner for two that was super easy. I did the empanadas in the air fryer and they were perfect, not greasy!
Definitely would buy this again and would order multiple if I could. They were so tasty! Directions were unclear for the conventional oven. It made it sound like I could put the plastic in the oven with the empanadas which I knew couldn't be safe. I just ended up putting it on a baking sheet.
These are absolutely delicious. We make a little salsa verde and sour cream mix to eat with it and cover them in cheese.
Yum wouldn't say it's 4-6 servings unless you're getting one or two per person which doesn't really work for the size but they're good
Family wants more of these. They flew off the plate but would have been nice with some salsa or sauce
These were easy and delicious. However most of them were "broken". I did manage to squish them back together before air-frying them. Also a great late-night snack.
Good, not a super strong taste. Great for bulking up a meal or as tapas. I would consider adding some salsa and/or guacamole dip with it
I put these in the air fryer and while they toasted up pretty good I felt that the filling wasn't as good as I hoped it would be, but it was still above par.
Bland. Please send veggies. Empanadas can have chicken AND veggies in them, you know.
