This sweet and sticky confection is our single-serving take on the classic American dessert. A moist, buttery vanilla cake sits on top of a juicy pineapple ring, drizzled generously with a rich brown sugar sauce. When warmed up, all the flavors meld together and the sauce soaks into the cake for saucy deliciousness in every bite. To serve, simply turn the cake out onto a plate so the pineapple is on top—wow factor unlocked! Nutrition values are representative of a 1 cake serving.

Review summary

Updated on Apr 2026
  • Flavor: Most love the sweet, buttery taste with perfect pineapple-to-cake balance, though some find it too sweet and suggest pairing with vanilla ice cream.
  • Ease of prep: Super easy — just 30-60 seconds in the microwave or 12-16 minutes in the oven for a warm, delicious dessert.
  • Suggestions: Heat for 50-60 seconds instead of 40 to properly warm the pineapple; oven heating creates nice caramelization and crispy edges.
  • Portions: Perfect individual serving size that satisfies without being overwhelming, though some wish they were slightly larger.
  • Pairings: Fantastic with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or even Greek yogurt for an extra special treat 🍦

If you like pineapple upside down cake you'll love these! Huge plus with heating them up a little. Make sure to have a glass of milk or coffee near cause they are a little rich.

These were a hit, everybody thought they had caramel sauce on top of the pineapple (which was also very fresh). These pineapple upside down cakes are great for an after dinner treat.

To be a ready-to-eat pineapple upside cake, this is pretty good. But, it is heavy on the calories. So, I split one cake with my mom. The half of a cake is satisfying.

I didn't know what to expect with this cake because I've never had this type, but it was sweet, moist, and had a great spongy flavorful texture. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Vanilla ice cream & baking it instead of microwave would've taken it to the next level

Didn't receive it in this order but whenever I receive it I always enjoy it. It's easy to warm up in the oven and tastes great with pineapple ice-cream

Oh crap! Can we talk? These are so definitely good so rich so full of flavor and real pineapple. The best dessert I've had since mom used to make pineapple upside down cake 40 years ago.

I love Pineapple Upside Down Cake so my suggestion is to add crushed pineapple not just a single ring, and a little brown sugar.
