Spicy Creole Stew
Serves 2 | with chicken thigh, Andouille sausage, shrimp, in a spicy tomato and pepper sauce with rice
We’ve merged stewy gumbo with the bold flavors of rice-packed jambalaya into a dish that will transport you to the jazz-filled streets of New Orleans. Here, we’ve simmered shrimp, chicken, and spicy andouille in an aromatic tomato base loaded with onions, bell peppers, and celery. Bonus: Each serving comes with hot sauce so you can kick up the spice level like a Louisianan if you like!

Review summary
Updated on Dec 2025- Flavor: Many enjoyed the authentic Creole taste, though some found it too salty or fishy; adjust seasoning to preference 🌶️.
- Ease of prep: Oven-safe container and easy instructions were appreciated, but cooking times varied widely for some customers.
- Suggestions: Consider reducing sodium content, using parboiled rice for better texture, and including cornbread as a side.
- Portions: Several felt it was more suitable as a single serving or side dish rather than a full meal for two.
- Texture: Some found the shrimp overcooked or tough; others noted inconsistent sausage sizes and chicken texture.

This appears to have replaced the previous Jambalaya meal, which I loved. This is definitely tasty, and I like the larger pieces of shrimp, chicken, and sausage - but the SODIUM!? 1720mg per serving? That's 3440 for the entire meal - extremely unhealthy levels of sodium. The previous Jambalaya meal had 1060mg per serving - still a lot, but why 620 mg more in this new stew? Also the Jambalaya was 90 fewer calories per serving. Bring back the jambalaya!

Wow, this is really tasty and definitely has the spicy kick creole stew should have. I wish the amount of sodium was a little lower, but for an occasional, quick lunch we love it.

Excellent!! Your cajun meals are always awesome and the flavors are authentic creole. SO good and the pop-in-the-oven meals are super easy to make. Loved it with the rice, will order again.

Expected to use this as a meal for two but it was more of a side dish amount for two, maybe three. Good flavor.

This was a delicious meal. My only problem was the crazy sizes of the sausage; it was very inconsistent, some pieces were tiny and some were huge.

Surprised that no additional seasoning was necessary. Literally restaurant quality from a box.

Very tasty creole stew, but the rice was very much not good. That's been true with all the Ready-to-Heat meals with rice that I've tried. I guess your rice just doesn't do well in the microwave. I won't try anything more with ready-to-heat rice.
