What’s not to love about a classic Italian meatball sub? This one’s exceptionally easy to get to the table, and it comes together in one pan (thanks to our fully cooked beef meatballs!). Add lots of marinara sauce and melty mozzarella, and serve these subs alongside a salad of mixed greens, carrots, and Italian dressing to complete the meal.

Cooking Oil

• Wash and dry produce. • Halve baguettes lengthwise and toast.

• Heat a drizzle of oil in a medium pan over medium-high heat. Add meatballs and cook, stirring occasionally, until warmed through and browned all over, 3-5 minutes. Season with 1⁄2 tsp Italian Seasoning (1 tsp for 4 servings), salt, and pepper. (Be sure to measure the Italian Seasoning; we sent more!) • Stir in marinara and a splash of water. Bring to a simmer and cook until sauce is warmed through, 30-60 seconds.

• While meatballs cook, in a large bowl, toss together mixed greens, dressing, and half the carrots (all for 4 servings). Taste and season with salt and pepper if desired.

• Top bottom baguette halves with meatballs and sauce. Sprinkle meatballs with mozzarella. Close subs. • Divide subs and salad between plates. Top salad with croutons and serve.
Meatball is fully cooked when internal temperature reaches 165º.
This was a quick and easy meal. I did a little rearranging of the menu. Cooked the meatballs as directed with the marinara sauce. (Great sauce, just wish there was a little more of it.) Served it over pasta and toasted the bread with garlic butter. The salad was perfect with it.
This one pan saucy beef meatball sub was delicious! I was surprised at how good the meatballs were. It was a very generous portion also.
Subs were delicious and the salad helped make it less heavy. Maybe add a step to taste again with cheese on it?
The meatball sandwiches were amazing and flavorful! Also the salad was the perfect side!
Delicious subs! Thank you for sending cooked meatballs. Easy to prepare & delicious taste
Don't need oil in the pan if the fat from the meatballs falls into the pan. Prefer the recipe when you make your own meatballs. Also salad was slimy
I like how fast this dinner was and I liked having a spinach salad side over potatoes. I do think homemade meatballs are better
Great easy meal. I wish the mixed greens were actually mixed or included some lettuce. Should be warning of less oil when cooking meatballs so sauce does not come out oily.
Excellent. This is one where I had no recipe card and really wish I did because I would love to make this one again. Quick & easy. Needed to be more salad, though.
The meal was decent - I would prefer to make the meatballs BUT I appreciated the convenience of the ready made meatballs. What I did not appreciate was the teeny portion of greens included with the meal. And the ratio of carrots to greens was overwhelming. I appreciate the salad as part of the meal, but the amount of greens provided was too small.
