• Wash and dry produce. • Halve, peel, and thinly slice half the onion (whole onion for 4). Halve lemon. Trim and discard root end from lettuce; chop leaves into bite-size pieces.

• Pat steak* dry. Thinly slice steak; season with Shawarma Spice Blend, salt, and pepper. • Drizzle oil in a hot pan. Add steak; cook, stirring occasionally, until steak reaches desired doneness, 4-6 minutes.

• While steak cooks, in a microwave-safe bowl, mix onion, juice from half the lemon (whole lemon for 4), and a pinch of salt. Cover with plastic wrap and microwave until onion is tender, 30-40 seconds. Set aside to pickle. • In a separate bowl, mix lettuce, tomatoes, feta, and vinaigrette.

• Wrap pitas in damp paper towels; microwave for 20-30 seconds. • Add steak in a line across the middle of each pita. Top with as much salad as you like. Drizzle with smoky garlic herb sauce; top with as much pickled onion (draining first) as you like and as much hot sauce as you like. • Fold pitas in half to form wraps. Serve with any remaining salad on the side.
Steak is fully cooked when internal temperature reaches 145°.
This was easy and delicious. I would LOVE to have the smoky garlic herb sauce recipe or be able to purchase. Also the Marzetti Greek vinaigrette was an excellent choice. The shawarma seasoning was great too. Very good ingredient pairing! Once the red onion was lemon pickled I threw the salad ingredients right on top and tossed, delicious tucked in with shawarma and on its own.
The shawarma seasoning is too overpowering. So I used some of it along with salt and pepper. Great flavor, the pita warmed up nicely and the smoky garlic sauce paired well with the steak and salad.
Utterly delicious. The weakest link was the pita, which was denser than pita usually is. It also could have been bigger for how much filling was provided.
Needed a better sauce for the pita wraps. Tzatziki would have been better.
Good flavor. Bread is very thick. Sauce for pita had great flavor as well as the salad
The fellas made this and couldn't stop talking about the shawarma flavor and how yummy this was.
For this recipe, I'd suggest pickling a shallot. We ended up not using the full red onion and honestly it seemed kind of a waste. When I microwaved the pita following the instructions, it was chewy. My suggestion would be to not microwave. Or wipe out the pan you brown the meat in to warm it. Loved the salad mix.
Pleasantly surprised, incredibly flavorful, easy to put together. We opted to make it a full pita vs having a salad with it.
Very good flavor, the pita seemed a little too thick, but the flavors were excellent!
The steak and seasoning was delicious! The pitas work better when you cut them open and stuff ingredients inside.
