We’ve given your favorite turkey and cheese sandwich a serious upgrade. To start, we’ve got golden slices of toasted sourdough bread. Then it’s a pairing of nutty gouda cheese with bright, tangy-sweet apples. You’ll whip up a creamy Dijonnaise to slather on, and after plating (or brown bagging—it’s great on the go!), you’ll add a wholesome side of sliced apples. It’s everything you love about a lunchtime classic, elevated by our lunch-loving chefs.

• Toast bread.
• Meanwhile, wash and dry produce.
• Halve, core, and thinly slice apple.
• In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, mustard, and a pinch of sugar.
• Spread one side of each bread slice with Dijonnaise. Top half the bread slices, spread sides up, with gouda, as much turkey as you like, and as many apple slices as you like. Top with remaining bread slices, spread sides down. Halve sandwiches on a diagonal. TIP: Refrigerate any leftover turkey in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
• Divide sandwiches between plates. Serve with any remaining apple slices on the side.
I love the idea of this sandwich - especially the apple - but the bread was really cheap bread and the cheese was like American cheese instead of a distinct Gouda. I would have preferred being given fewer slices of ham if it meant I could have good quality bread and cheese. Also - it needs another ingredient to elevate the flavor in some way. It was a bit bland overall in flavor, regardless of the ingredient quality.
It was so crisp and refreshing. Take the advice on card and use lemon juice on the apples. Made them taste great. We had them as a lunch with just the sandwiches. I would do them for supper but have chips or fries with them. What is nice about Hello Fresh is you are able to make those on your own for a quick thing to put together but not for 4.99 a plate. The meat alone is over 5.00
So yummy and easy to make! The apple adds a nice texture crunch to the sandwich along with a nice tart flavor!
What a wonderful surprise! Please do more of these sandwiches for the hot Summer. The apples were a treat and the turkey wonderful.
This sandwich is delicious. I never thought of putting an apple on my sandwiches but this all fits together wonderfully
I didn't think "toasting" the bread would be good, too crunchy, so I grilled the bread with a tiny bit of butter. Very good that way to melt everything. Makes the cheese stick to the apples better.
Super simple, very yummy! Twice as much cheese included would have been ideal (2 slices per sandwich instead of 1). A single slice per sandwich was a bit light. I used some extra that I happened to have on hand in the fridge to balance it out better.
A first time try for me, absolutely loved it! The bread slices were huge and there was extra Turkey left over. I will never get over how fresh your apples always are! I would never think to use apples the way Hello Fresh does!
This was an easy to make sandwich and I was pleased with the ease of preparation. It was a bit bland in taste - I am not sure what it needed but I still enjoyed it. I kept one half of a sandwich in the refrigerator wrapped in foil and it kept very well for two days.
I know "it's just a sandwich," but it was nice to not cook! I'd love to see more simple options like this
