• Adjust rack to top position and preheat oven to 425 degrees. Wash and dry produce. • Cut potatoes into 1⁄2-inch-thick wedges.

• Toss potatoes on a baking sheet with a large drizzle of oil, Fry Seasoning, salt, and pepper. Roast on top rack until browned and tender, 20-25 minutes.

• Meanwhile, place mayonnaise and mustard in separate serving bowls (save some mayonnaise and mustard for making the Dijonnaise in Step 5). Arrange family style along with sourdough, ham, Swiss, and pickle for everyone to build their own sandwiches. (You’ll cook the sandwiches in the next step!)

• Heat a drizzle of olive oil and 1 TBSP butter in a large pan over medium heat. Carefully add sandwiches (for 4 servings, you may need to work in batches; wipe out pan and add more olive oil and butter between batches as necessary). Cook, gently pressing with a spatula or heavy-bottomed pan, until cheese melts and bread is golden, 2-4 minutes per side (add another drizzle of olive oil when flipping). TIP: Lower heat and cover with lid if sandwiches begin to brown too quickly.

• In a small bowl, combine remaining mayonnaise with remaining mustard.

• Halve sandwiches on a diagonal. • Divide sandwiches, potato wedges, and any remaining pickle between plates. Serve with Dijonnaise on the side.
Ham and Swiss, what's not to love? What about making it fancy as a croque monsieur with ham, swiss and a white sauce for beschemel? A special version of what's really just a ham and cheese sandwich. Probably not within cost but maybe a small onion soup as the side instead of potatoes. Onion, garlic powder, beef stock.
It was good not have to go to the grocery to buy anything. It was good to have something my husband liked. It was good with easy directions. Even though I didn't really need a recipe for a ham and cheese sandwich, I liked that everything was right there and ready to go.
Love the portions! Easy to make and put me onto the pickles. Reminds me of the Cuban ham sandwich. Very tasty
This is definitely in my top 10 favorite meals so far. It was the pickles!! The only thing I didn't like were the potatoes. I prefer the small yellow potatoes and sweet potatoes - and really any other potatoes instead of russet.
This was great. The dill pickles were a great addition. The only thing I would recommend is another slice or two of cheese. One slice for a larger slice of sourdough bread just didn't cover it! Otherwise, thumbs up!
These were quite good--I skipped the roasted potatoes and just had chips--and I liked the addition of the pickles, though they might have been easier to eat if the pickles were a bit thinner.
As simple as this one was the kids thought it was fancy and impressed...pulling out the charcuterie board turns any dull meal into glam. But it was tasty too! Only complaint is we received 2 packs of ham but only 4 slices of cheese.
I like to make these open faced in the oven - very quick and convenient
Flavors were good but it's very small for a "dinner" meal (I wouldn't have chosen this in my weekly recipes, only reason I received it was because I missed the cut off date and there was a mix up correcting the order.) Needed more than one slice of cheese per sandwich. Would have been better with lettuce and tomato too.
None of us liked the pickles in the sandwich, it was just too overpowering. We also didn't like the mayo/mustard. Taste of it was fine but again was a bit too much for the sandwich. It made our stomachs feel kind of yuckie. I think a nice honey mustard would have been better. Maybe instead of pickles offer sliced tomato?
