The versatile taco is taking a trip to southeast Asia with these sweet, savory, and spicy handheld bites. Tender ground turkey cooks along with hoisin sauce, pho stock, lime juice, and as much Sriracha as you like. We pile the flavorful filling into warm flour tortillas and top them with a crisp and tangy cilantro slaw, balancing the rich filling.

Produced in a facility that processes eggs, milk, fish, peanuts, sesame, shellfish, soy, tree nuts, and wheat.

Cooking Steps

PREP & MARINATE SLAW
1
  • Wash and dry produce. Roughly chop cilantro. Quarter lime.

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together vinegar and 1 TBSP sugar (2 TBSP for 4 servings) until dissolved.

  • Add coleslaw mix and half the cilantro; mix until well combined. Set aside, tossing occasionally, until ready to serve.

COOK TURKEY
2
  • Heat a drizzle of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add turkey*, salt, and pepper; cook, breaking up meat into pieces, until turkey is browned and cooked through, 4-6 minutes.

  • Remove from heat. Stir in stock concentrate, hoisinjuice from one lime wedge (two wedges for 4 servings), and as much Sriracha as you like. Mix until thoroughly combined; taste and season with salt and pepper if desired.

MIX LIME MAYO
3
  • While turkey cooks, in a small bowl, stir together mayonnaise, juice from one lime wedge (two wedges for 4 servings), salt, and pepper.

FINISH & SERVE
4
  • Wrap tortillas in damp paper towels and microwave until warm and pliable, about 30 seconds.

  • Divide tortillas between plates; fill with hoisin turkey and slaw (draining first). Drizzle with lime mayo; garnish with remaining cilantro and a squeeze of lime juice. Serve with any remaining lime wedges on the side.

Review summary

Updated on Dec 2025
  • Flavor: Many enjoyed the bold, sweet-savory taste, though some found it too sweet; consider adjusting hoisin sauce to preference 🌶️.
  • Ease of prep: Simple to prepare with limited dishes, making it a quick and easy meal for busy nights.
  • Suggestions: Try adding diced onions, tomatoes, or crunchy onions for extra texture and flavor depth.
  • Portions: Some found the filling a bit skimpy; consider bulking up with extra veggies or meat.
  • Spice level: For those who like it hotter, add chili flakes or use more Sriracha to balance the sweetness.

What a great way to jazz up turkey which does not have much flavor at all. These were sooooo delicious and also a great avenue to utilize leftover turkey!

We enjoyed these a lot and would choose them again! Although next time, I'll be adding some onions, diced tomatoes and a smidge more cheese :-) Great recipe!

Tortillas were amazing. Love this new supplier! Old ones were small & thin. These were great!

Portions are a little underwhelming and the hoisin sauce dominates the flavoring instead of working with the other flavors. Could use more coleslaw mix. Other tacos have been much more enjoyable.

Tasty but cut it pretty close on the amount of turkey splitting it between two people.

Flavor was okay, not as bright as I thought it would be.

They were OK. We don't like sweet flavors on our meat, so only 2 stars. If we left off the sweet, it would have been 3 stars.
