• Adjust rack to top position and preheat oven to 375 degrees. Wash and dry produce. • Finely chop jalapeño, removing ribs and seeds for less heat. Remove and discard any large stems from kale if necessary. • In a small pot, combine rice, 3⁄4 cup water (1 1⁄2 cups for 4 servings), and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce to a low simmer. Cook until rice is tender, 15-18 minutes. • Keep covered off heat until ready to serve.

• Melt 3 TBSP butter (6 TBSP for 4 servings) in a medium pot over medium heat. Add jalapeño, cumin, 1 tsp garlic powder, and 1⁄4 tsp turmeric (2 tsp garlic powder and 1⁄2 tsp turmeric for 4). Cook, stirring, until fragrant, 30-60 seconds. • Add kale, half the ginger paste, a pinch of sugar (big pinch for 4), salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring and scraping bottom of pot, until kale wilts, 30-60 seconds. • Stir in spinach a handful at a time. Cover; reduce to medium low. Cook until tender, about 10 minutes (add splashes of water as needed). Taste; season with salt and pepper.

• Meanwhile, place 1 TBSP butter and 1⁄2 tsp garlic powder (you’ll use the rest later) in a small microwave-safe bowl (2 TBSP butter and 1 tsp garlic powder for 4 servings). • Cover with plastic wrap; microwave until butter melts, 20-30 seconds. Carefully remove plastic and stir to combine.

• Once oven has preheated, place samosas on a baking sheet at least 1⁄2 inch apart. Bake on top rack for 5 minutes (you’ll add more to the sheet then). • Brush garlic butter over top sides of naan. • Once samosas have baked 5 minutes, carefully add naan to baking sheet. Bake until everything is warmed through, 5-7 minutes more.

• Meanwhile, open package of chicken and drain off any excess liquid. • Heat a large drizzle of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken; season with garam masala, salt, and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until beginning to brown, 1-2 minutes. • Lower heat to medium; push chicken to one side of pan; add tomato paste and curry powder to empty side. Cook, stirring, until darkened in color, 1-2 minutes. • Stir in coconut milk, remaining ginger paste, remaining garlic powder, 1⁄4 cup water, and a pinch of sugar until combined (1⁄2 cup water and a big pinch of sugar for 4 servings). Bring to a simmer; cook until sauce has thickened slightly and chicken is cooked through, 2-3 minutes more. Taste; season with salt and pepper if desired.

• Fluff rice with a fork. • Place samosas, naan, rice, saag, and chicken curry in separate serving bowls; serve family style.
Poultry is fully cooked when internal temperature reaches 165°.
This was pretty good. The ingredients for the curry sauce tasted a little out of balance--like there was too much tomato paste and/or too much garam masala. I had received 2 packets of tomato paste and used both of them since i didn't see any instructions to use only 1. I used the whole packet of garam masala since there were no instructions otherwise. The saag was okay but needed more flavor--the garlic powder advised in the recipe was not enough and it tasted like it needed something. There weren't specific instructions about the jalapeno so i used slightly more in the saag but it didn't taste spicy from this for some reason, although the curry sauce did. It seemed like there wasn't much chicken. I wasn't sure why it would carry so much of a premium fee. The samosas were delicious, but only 3 per person.
We very much enjoyed the flavor of this family-friendly meal, and I liked the addition of kale to the spinach for the saag. I would not, however, consider this an easy-prep meal. None of the individual steps is difficult, but keeping track of five items (timing samosas and naan in the oven, rice on the stove, preparing the saag, and getting the chicken cooked, while also keeping everything stirred, etc.) so that they are all done simultaneously is not a simple task for one cook. Additionally, the recipe should recommend a *large* skillet for the curry, especially for the 4-person version.
Wow! While eating I couldn't believe I made something so good. Huge portions and amazing authentic flavors. The greens were very impressive as was the curry chicken and when paired with the other items in this meal it really all went so well together. Very impressed with this one.
Really liked this, especially the saag! This was a *lot* of food, we had leftovers available for lunch the next day. Definitely worth the extra cost.
We loved everything! Great tasting chicken. The Saag was really good. The texture of the curry was very smooth. The Naan was great with the garlic butter.
This. Amazing! The kale/spinach was my 11 year old's favorite way I have ever cooked kale! The garlic butter naan was to die for, loved the spice in the samosas. My only suggestion is to have the chicken breast chunks chopped up better prior to packaging.
What I really like were the bold contrasting colors - dark green saag, red curry, white rice and yellow samosas / naan. It was easy, especially for how many things were going at once, and tasty too.
Should send real garlic. Powder as instructed is not enough. Next time I'll supplement. Couldn't taste the garlic in the saag. Otherwise a good idea. Flavors need to be stronger. Tweak spices.
The Korma and Saag taste as good as the same dishes from my favorite Indian restaurant.
Saag was amazing! All of this was so so good, but samosas weren't my favorite texture; the breading was off. Will definitely order again.
