We love a sweet and savory dinner pairing, and these tacos are just that. Ground turkey and green pepper is cooked in a sweet soy glaze until the glaze is sticky. They’re stuffed into steamy tortillas, along with a tangy cabbage slaw. Of course, these taco toppings won’t disappoint: creamy, spicy gochujang mayo and crispy fried onions. It’s all ready in just 15 minutes—life is sweet (and savory), friends.

Produced in a facility that processes eggs, milk, fish, peanuts, sesame, shellfish, soy, tree nuts, and wheat.

Cooking Steps

Prep & Make Slaw
1
  • Wash and dry produce.

  • Halve, core, and thinly slice green pepper.

  • In a medium bowl, toss together cabbage, half the vinegar (all for 4 servings), 1 tsp sugar (2 tsp for 4), and a pinch of salt until thoroughly combined.

Cook Pepper & Turkey
2
  • Heat a drizzle of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add green pepper and cook until slightly softened, 2-3 minutes.

  • Add turkey* and season with salt and pepper. Cook, breaking up meat into pieces, until browned and cooked through, 4-6 minutes.

  • Stir in sweet soy glaze; cook until everything is coated and glaze has thickened, 1-2 minutes. Remove pan from heat.

  •

Mix Mayo & Warm Tortillas
3
  • Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine mayonnaise with gochujang to taste. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Wrap tortillas in damp paper towels and microwave until warm and pliable, 30 seconds.

Serve
4
  • Divide tortillas between plates and fill with turkey mixture and slaw (draining first). Top with gochujang mayo and crispy fried onions. Serve.

  • Suggestions: Add extra sweet soy glaze for more sauce; some toasted their tortillas or served over rice instead of using flour tortillas.
  • Portions: Most found portions small for the number of tortillas provided, with many wanting more filling or a side dish.
  • Crispy onions: Reviews were mixed — many loved the added crunch and flavor, while others found them unnecessary or too oily.

Great flavors. Sweetness of the glaze. Tangy, sour, crunch of the slaw. Salty from the onions. Gochujang didn't add much heat mixed with the mayo, but still an amazing recipe. Highly recommend.

The textures really made these tacos. Savory meat then crunch of tangy cabbage, creamy sauce and back to crunch if the fried onion toppings. A favorite.

Delicious, fast, and easy! Just the right amount of spice, and we added a little bit more fried onions as well as a bit of shredded lettuce to the tacos to give the tacos a bit more texture. We order this one every time it comes up!

Flavors on this dish were amazing! Who knew Asian tacos would be so delicious! I pickled the cabbage for a little bit but then added them to the turkey mixture to soften them up. I will say that I would have enjoyed having another green pepper to add. I kept the recipe card in order to recreate it if I can.

I don't like the combo with the spicy mayo and crispy onions, it makes the tacos too oily and heavy. I think if people are opting for turkey they want something lighter. Maybe guac or some jack cheese or cotija cheese and cilantro. Too many meals with spicy mayo.

This was good, the gochujang aoili was perfect. I added a dab of really spicy hot sauce to kick up the heat but everything really came together for this dish. Sweet, spicy, smokey, savory perfect.

Tasty & well-balanced. Lots of flavor, color & texture for a quick meal. Soy glaze & gochujang are exceptionally good with turkey

One of the best taco options and we've tried most of them. The turkey in this recipe made the tacos. Great quick and easy weeknight meal.

I think this recipe could use do with double the crispy onions and mayonnaise sauce. There was not enough to flavor 6 tacos, only enough for 3.
