Cooking Steps

1

• Wash and dry produce.

2

• Zest and halve one orange (two oranges for 4 servings); squeeze juice into a small bowl until you have ¼ cup (½ cup for 4), discarding any seeds. (It’s OK if you have slightly more or less juice!) Cut remaining orange into 8 wedges (you’ll have 16 wedges for 4).

3

• Roughly chop pistachios.

4

• In a small pot, combine oats, dried cranberries, orange zest, orange juice, half the jam, 1½ cups water, 2 TBSP sugar, and a pinch of salt (use a medium pot, 3 cups water, and 4 TBSP sugar for 4 servings). Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Cook, stirring occasionally, until oats are tender and mixture is creamy, 3-5 minutes.

5

• Remove from heat; stir in one packet of crème fraîche and 1 TBSP butter (two packets of crème fraîche and 2 TBSP butter for 4 servings). TIP: The oats will thicken as they sit.

6

• While oatmeal cooks, in a second small bowl, combine remaining crème fraîche and remaining jam. Add water 1 tsp at a time until mixture reaches a drizzling consistency.

7

• Divide oatmeal between bowls. Sprinkle with pistachios and as many chocolate chips as you like. Spoon cherry drizzle over top. Serve with orange wedges on the side.

There are too many flavors going on in this: orange, cranberry, cherry, chocolate, pistachio, creme fraiche. It ends up being weird and confusing. Maybe if it were just orange-cranberry, or cranberry-chocolate, or even cherry-chocolate or orange-chocolate. I feel like the creme fraiche is unnecessary, and while the pistachios add some texture, they also add a flavor that doesn't really mesh with the others, and the unique pistachio texture competes with the dried fruit. I like the oatmeal itself, but this combination feels like it's trying to be so many things, it's not doing any of them particularly well.

I loved this breakfast! I love oatmeal anyway but the addition of the orange juice, orange zest, and cranberries was perfect. The cherry jam drizzle and chocolate chips just kicked up to a whole new level. Delicious!

Best oatmeal recipe ever!! The orange flavor and the cherry jam made it so bright and tasty. The oatmeal turned out creamy and fluffy. It was perfect. And who doesn't love chocolate chips? I hope this kit gets offered again!

Love the orange & cranberry combination. Initially ate as per recipe but preferred it without the chocolate & cherry drizzle. Will order again.

Delicious oatmeal! Best I've ever made at home. Not sure the pistachios were needed-we didn't toast them, so I'm not sure if they would have been crunchier if we had?

Terrific! I hate oatmeal but I loved this. Great texture and amazing flavors. We think the chocolate bits are overkill and we didn't add extra sugar. Definitely a keeper.

Super good!! Enjoyed this for breakfast very much. Did not receive a recipe card in my box but thankfully saw the online version. Oranges were Very green so used the orange juice we had instead.
