Bowls are way past “having a moment”—they’ve become a pillar of our lunches and dinners. Why? It’s simple: Everything’s better in a bowl! (Nice knowing you, plates.) But seriously, the customizable combo of carbs, protein, veggies, and a drizzle of delicious sauce cannot be denied. True to form, this rendition is fully loaded. Buttery, lime-laced jasmine rice is topped with saucy ground pork and tender carrots. It’s all drizzled with a delectable chili mayo, then topped with crispy fried onions and fresh cilantro. One bite will have you totally bowled over.

Produced in a facility that processes eggs, milk, fish, peanuts, sesame, shellfish, soy, tree nuts, and wheat.

Cooking Steps

Cook Rice
1

• In a small pot, combine rice, 1¼ cups water (2¼ cups for 4 servings), and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce to a low simmer. Cook until rice is tender, 15-18 minutes. Keep covered off heat until ready to serve.

Prep & Mix Mayo
2

• While rice cooks, wash and dry all produce. Zest and quarter lime. Roughly chop cilantro. • In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise with chili sauce to taste.

Cook Pork
3

• Heat a drizzle of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add pork* and a big pinch of salt. Cook, breaking up meat into pieces, until browned, 3-4 minutes. • Stir in carrots, sweet soy glaze, and sesame dressing. Cook until carrots are softened, pork is cooked through, and sauce has thickened, 2-4 minutes more. Taste and season with salt and pepper. Turn off heat.

Finish & Serve
4

• Fluff rice with a fork; stir in lime zest and 1 TBSP butter (2 TBSP for 4 servings). Season with salt and pepper. • Divide rice between bowls and top with pork mixture and any remaining sauce from pan. Drizzle with chili mayo. Sprinkle with crispy fried onions and cilantro. Serve with lime wedges on the side.

This is so good. We keep the carrots cold and mix with the sesame dressing. And pork stays separate with the soy sauce. Everything is in separate bowls and then everyone can make their bowls how they like it. We always put two chicken stock packets in the jasmine rice since HelloFresh does that with other recipes. Love the mayonnaise with the hot sauce, we water it down a little bit so it is drizzly. It all tastes so good together!

I tweaked the recipe a little bit more to my liking. I don't like a lot of sweetness and I prefer some salty and heat with beef bowls so I added less than the suggested amount of soy glaze and sesame dressing, more sriracha and more soy sauce, and I seasoned my rice with fresh cilantro and lime juice. I also scrambled up 2 eggs for each serving and that balanced more of the flavors. Overall it was very delicious and I enjoyed the crispy onions

This is my FAVORITE dish so far! I love how the soy and sesame work together to provide the best flavor; I love that the carrots came already shredded; I love that the rice was "sticky rice" (like I was at the hibachi grill); I love the added crunch from the fried onions and the spicy mayo that you get to choose how spicy it is. I loved everything about this meal!!!

Doubled the mayo and Sriracha. Added some Katsu Sauce and Soy Sauce to make moister. Like the 85/15 ground beef better than the 90/10. The 90/10 is way too dry.

Amazing! Only thing I would like to see change is a more lean ground beef. I had to drain my ground beef because of how much grease was in the pan. Aside from that the recipe was very flavorful. Jasmine rice had a nice nutty taste
