The HF burger lab is open and they’ve invented a crowd-pleasing mashup of ground beef, Tex-Mex seasoning, and scallions. Griddle to juicy perfection, then tuck into fluffy toasted potato buns spread with guacamole and layered with sliced tomato. Serve blue tortilla chips on the side to make burger night an instant fiesta.

• Wash and dry produce. • Trim and thinly slice scallions. Thinly slice tomato into rounds; season with salt and pepper.

• In a large bowl, combine beef*, scallions, and half the Tex-Mex paste (all for 4 servings). Form mixture into two patties (four patties for 4), each slightly wider than a burger bun. • Heat a drizzle of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add patties; cook until browned on one side, 3-5 minutes. • Flip, then reduce heat to medium low and cover. Cook to desired doneness, 3-5 minutes more. TIP: The Tex-Mex paste will release oil and splatter a little; lower heat if necessary.

Meanwhile, halve and toast buns.

• Fill buns with patties; top with guacamole and as many tomato slices as you like. • Divide burgers and tortilla chips between plates. Serve.
Ground Beef is fully cooked when internal temperature reaches 160°.
The Mexican spice and guacamole on the burger were wonderful.
I was pleased with how little prep was needed. These burgers come together fast and are tasty.
A great addition to our burger night options! I am not the biggest avocado/guacamole fan, but it was so fresh & delicious on this burger.
One of the best burgers I have had!!!! We loved this and I will be watching for it to come back - please bring back!
Great flavor. I added garlic powder to the meat and added cilantro to the burger.
Great flavor texture. Could've been a little bigger, but it was great.
Burgers were good but I was looking for a little more taste and if I made again, I would add either spicy guac or stir in a little hot salsa to guac before spreading on burger.
Tasty meal. Easy to do. Would have preferred twice the amount of chips & guacamole so each person has their own bag of chips and guacamole to put on their burger & to go with the chips. Maybe pepper-jack cheese to add to the burger?
Not enough guacamole. I could do a thin smear on each burger and have a tiny scoop for chips. Not enough for the whole portion of chips and definitely nothing like the generous mounds in the picture. At least send two guacamole containers or send an avocado and a container of salsa so people can make it fresh.
This is a very delicious recipe! It needs more guacamole though. There was not enough to go around.
