Cooking Steps

  • Wash and dry produce.

  • Trim and thinly slice scallions, separating whites from greens.

  • Crush cashews in their bag (or roughly chop!).

  • Break chicken strips apart by massaging chicken pouch before opening. Cut open pouch, thoroughly drain chicken broth, and discard. (TIP: Broth is a result of the sous-vide cooking technique!)

  • Heat a drizzle of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken and scallion whites to hot pan. Separate chicken into smaller pieces if needed. Cook, stirring occasionally, until chicken is lightly browned and warmed through, 1-2 minutes.

  • Reduce heat to low. Carefully pour orange sauce into pan with chicken; stir. Cook, stirring, for 30-60 seconds, or until chicken is evenly coated in sauce. Remove pan from heat.

  • ALT MICROWAVE INSTRUCTIONS: Break chicken strips apart by massaging chicken pouch before opening. Cut open poch, thoroughly drain chicken broth, and discard. (TIP: Broth is a result of the sous-vide cooking technique!) Add chicken to tray or microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Carefully drain any excess broth and discard. Pour orange sauce over chicken, cover with a paper towel, and microwave on high until sauce and chicken are warmed through, 1-2 minutes. Carefully remove and stir to evenly coat chicken in sauce.

  • Meanwhile, trim corner on bag of broccoli florets. Place bag on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave on high until tender, 2-3 minutes. Carefully remove from microwave and let stand for 1-3 minutes to cool slightly. Open bag carefully as broccoli will be hot and steamy! Season with salt and pepper.

  • ALT MICROWAVE INSTRUCTIONS: Place broccoli in a large microwave-safe bowl with 1 TBSP water (2 TBSP for 4 servings). Cover bowl with plastic wrap and poke a few holes in wrap. Microwave until tender, 2-3 minutes. Drain any excess water. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Gently squeeze rice package to separate rice. Tear 2 inches at top to vent pouch. Heat on high for 90 seconds. (Microwave times may vary. Be careful when handling and opening the pouch). Let rest for 1 minute. Carefully squeeze the pouch to separate rice. Season with salt and pepper.

  • ALTERNATIVE STOVE TOP INSTUCTIONS: Heat a drizzle of oil in a small pot over medium heat. Gently squeeze the rice pouch to separate rice. Pour contents of pouch into skillet. Add 2 TBSP water (1/4 cup for 4 servings). Stir rice occasionally until heated throughly 1-3 minutes.

  • Divide rice between bowls. Top with orange chicken and broccoli. Garnish with cashews, crispy onions, sesame seeds, and scallion greens. Drizzle with sriracha to taste.
