Large Pan

Cooking Steps

START BOLOGNESE
1
  • Heat a drizzle of oil in a large, preferably nonstick, pan (large pot for 4 servings) over medium-high heat. Add beef* and season with salt and pepper. Cook, breaking up meat into pieces, until lightly browned, 3 minutes (beef will finish cooking in the next step).

  • Carefully drain any excess grease from pan.

FINISH BOLOGNESE
2
  • To pan with beef, stir in marinara1¼ cups water, ½ tsp sugar (2 cups water and 1 tsp sugar for 4 servings). Add fettuccine (if noodles are stuck together, gently pull apart with your hands before adding to pan); stir to combine. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium. Cook, stirring, until noodles are tender, beef is cooked through, and sauce has thickened, 5-7 minutes. TIP: Be sure to scrape up any noodles sticking to the bottom of the pan as it cooks.

  • Taste and season with salt and pepper if desired. TIP: If sauce seems too thick, stir in splashes of water as needed until desired consistency is reached.

FINISH & SERVE
3
  • Halve ciabatta lengthwise; toast until golden brown. Spread with 1 TBSP butter (2 TBSP for 4 servings). Cut in half diagonally.

  • Divide fettuccine beef Bolognese between shallow bowls. Top with Parmesan. Serve with toasted ciabatta points

  • Texture: Many struggled with gummy or mushy noodles. Adjust cooking time carefully and stir gently to maintain pasta texture.

This was NOT bolognese. Ground beef and marinara is a meat sauce, but is it NOT bolognese. Bolognese starts with onion, carrot, and celery - a mirepoix. It would be amazing if some pasta recipes came with a pre-chopped mix of these three. Bolognese also has milk or cream. Two stars only because the fresh pasta noodles were sooo good. But please just call this fettuccine with meat sauce, or provide the mirepoix to make bolognese!

Tasty for a quick bolognese. I added some oregano to spruce it up a bit. Noodles were difficult to separate without ripping them apart, though!

Love the easy steps. This was really good. I do think that additional seasoning would be good for this though!

This was also a very tasty meal that was easy to cook. The side dish of the bread was a great compliment to this main course. We'll try this one again!

Super easy meaty spaghetti. I personally like more than meat (bell peppers, onion, Italian sausage, garlic cloves, basil, etc..). However it was nice to have a quick and easy meal. The family enjoyed it. I would have liked a salad, or garlic bread with thinner loaf bread.

Good, however I added seasonings to the beef, as none were provided in the box. It would've been pretty bland otherwise. I did really like the refrigerated fettuccine!

This didn't come out that great. I think it was the fettuccine pasta. Would have preferred it to be linguine or even penne. The fettuccine was too thick. Could have used more cheese as well. Probably won't order again
