Cooking Steps

1

Adjust rack to middle position and preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a baking sheet with foil and coat with nonstick cooking spray.

2

In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and 1 TBSP water.

3

Place compote and ½ tsp cinnamon in a small pot. Bring to a simmer over medium-low heat and cook, whisking, until combined and warmed through, 1 minute. Reduce heat to low and slowly whisk in slurry. Cook, whisking constantly, until thickened, 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

4

While filling cools, remove biscuits from package; place on a flat, lightly floured surface. Roll out each biscuit into a 3-inch round. Place about 1½ tsp filling to the center of each dough round, leaving a ½-inch border around the edges. Fold dough around filling and pinch edges together to seal. Place biscuit bites, sealed sides down, on prepared sheet, about 2 inches apart.

5

Bake on middle rack until golden brown, 15-18 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes, then dust biscuit bites with powdered sugar. Serve.

RECIPE SUGGESTION (Additional ingredients not included.) Prefer glazing to dusting? In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar with 1 TBSP water then drizzle over the cooled bursts.

Review summary

Updated on Feb 2026
  • Flavor: Some found the biscuits bland; consider adding vanilla or fresh blueberries to boost flavor 🍓.
  • Ease of prep: Many struggled to seal the biscuits; try rolling them thinner or using less filling to prevent leaks.
  • Suggestions: For better results, use a muffin tin, roll dough in powdered sugar, or shape like hand pies.
  • Portions: Several wanted more filling; consider using fewer biscuits or doubling the compote recipe.
  • Baking time: Some found 15-18 minutes too long; check for golden brown after 11-13 minutes.

Super delicious. I'd say either they need to be rolled out to 4 inches or less than 1.5 tsp of the compote should be put in there - it was messy following the directions and made some adjustments after trying to close two biscuits. Outside of that, super easy for this sweet treat.

Berry compote is quite bitter in flavour. Not the best. Dough needs to be rolled more than 3 x 3 to pinch it together without leakage. Also, I wasn't sent an instruction sheet so I had to copy instructions on the website. The instructions referred to the cornflower mix as "slurry". I cook a lot so I knew what that meant but newer cooks wouldn't. It was confusing.

Not as easy as I thought it would be to pinch shut. But came out perfectly golden. Wouldn't call them bites either. More like 3-4 bites for each one. Maybe I rolled them out too much. Smell delicious. Too hot to eat right now

I think the jam mixture needs to be really cold, because mine kept squirting out and making a mess, but could totally be my fault, maybe just making the instructions more clear! It tasted delicious, especially with the powdered sugar as icing.

I needed more filling -- if I order this again, I'll use more filling in a few, then make my own extra fillings including chocolate, other jams, etc. I'll also roll the dough out more thinly, and maybe coat the dough in powdered sugar before baking

The whole family loved them! 15-18 min bake time was too long though. They cooked in 11 minutes

We did these a little different, I made fruit pies, then dusted them with the powdered sugar and I also made the glaze, added a small pat of butter in the middle and poured the glaze on. They were eaten right up.
