Delicious! I had to wait for the peaches to ripen before making the pie. I've never used a premade crust, which was certainly a time saver and didn't affect the overall taste in the end. The creme fraiche could have used more lemon zest, but I preferred eating it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
I love to bake and this was a great summer bake! I hope there are more baking options to choose from. Cooking the peaches made our home smell amazing! The creme fraiche was a lovely, sophisticated touch.
I thought this would be a pie fully made, but then realized, I would need to make it. Still bought it and was able to add more peaches to the filling. A couple came quite damaged, so the extra fruit was needed. This pie takes a lot more work that I would like for the price, but was tasty.
I have never baked the pie in my life and although this pie was time-consuming it was one of the best pies that I've ever eaten including bakery pies. As much as a pain in the butt as it was to cook this pie I would absolutely buy this recipe again. I would feel good serving this to guests on a holiday that's how good it was
I have to admit that this recipe was a pain in the tush! Glad I didn't have to roll out the dough, but par-baking the crust was a pain. I tried using another pie pan to hold the crust in place. It didn't quite work and slipped down in one spot. I ended up using the extra crust I cut off to make a "patch" which I also par-baked. It worked thankfully! Also, blanching and peeling the peaches was a pain too. It took me much longer than prep time suggests, but the results were very tasty. I was too tired to cook dinner once I was done with the dang pie though!
This was very delicious. The instructions were clear, I found the pie easy to make. However there were some hiccups that really aggravated me with this order. The package arrived without pie crusts and the flour was damaged and everything was covered in flour. The peaches were hard as a rock. I went and bought my own peaches and set the ones you shipped out to ripen and it has taken about 5 days for these peaches to be ready to use. I will make another pie. I bought my own pie crusts. I wonder what your crusts were like?
I was shocked when the pie arrived in a bag to be made. Apparently I missed that on the description as I was expecting a pre-made dessert like the cheesecake and lava cakes. As a result I put off making for a few days as I knew it would be more time consuming but worked well for a day that had an easier meal recipe...I started with the pie and made the entree while the pie was baking. The pie came out absolutely delicious and is a keeper recipe for me. I really don't love peach pie, so that makes this that much more of a win. The pie was also sturdy and attractive which is not always easy to do.
I was so mad when this pie came all IKEA-style. I didn't realize the marketplace sold make-it-your-damned-self recipe kits. Everything I've gotten so far was ready-to-eat... or microwaveable. But I took a big breath and put my big-girl pants on and got to work. And then I realized I didn't have a pie pan - because I don't make pies. It was a whole thing. When I finally got to making this pie, it was at least 90 degrees and humid... but I did it. And, it was easier than I imagined it would be! Maybe all these weeks of following these HelloFresh recipes has been like training. I don't know, but it all came together like some brilliant masterpiece. I was so proud. It's gone now and I'm STILL PROUD. That was a good gosh darned pie. I almost want to make another one. Maybe on a cooler day.
I am not going to lie, this takes some time to make. It is not fast or super easy. But it is Soooo WORTH it. Absolutely Deliciousness!!! Worth every minute.
Husband usually doesn't like streusel topping on cooked fruit - not pies, cobbler, etc. He loved this pie!! I had an extra box of blueberries, so I added that, too. It was terrific
