Cooking Steps

1

Set aside 2 TBSP garlic herb butter; bring to room temperature. Adjust racks to top and middle positions and preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2

Toss carrots on a baking sheet with a drizzle of oil, salt, and pepper. Roast carrots on top rack 30-40 minutes, or until softened.

3

Remove baking sheet from oven. Toss carrots with softened garlic herb butter and hot honey to taste

4

Place potatoes au gratin 1 inch apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake on middle rack until warmed through, 25-30 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.

5

Recipe Suggestion (Additional ingredients not included.): Chop equal parts chives and parsley. Toss glazed carrots with the herbs to taste.

Review summary

Updated on Dec 2025
  • Flavor: Potatoes au gratin were cheesy and gooey; Mike's Hot Honey carrots offered a delightful sweet-and-spicy kick 🌶️.
  • Ease of prep: Air fryer worked great for the potatoes; some found carrots needed longer cooking time or higher heat.
  • Suggestions: Consider cooking potatoes longer for a crispier exterior. Adjust carrot roasting time or temperature as needed.
  • Versatility: These sides paired well with various mains like BBQ meatloaf, and even made a tasty breakfast option.
