If you’re feeling like you want to get On a Boat to the tropics to live the Good Life, it’s lucky for you that T-Pain got on board with his limited-edition twist on a spicy chicken sandwich! Garlic butter-brushed brioche buns are piled high with spicy, tangy shredded chicken tossed with hot sauce. Loaded on top are tomato slices and a savory-sweet pineapple-lime cabbage slaw for crisp, cool contrast. Add a little more garlic butter on top and extra slaw on the side to round out this twisty, fiery number.

• Wash and dry produce. • Drain pineapple, then roughly chop. Zest and halve lime. Grate garlic into a small microwave-safe bowl. Thinly slice tomato into rounds; season with salt and pepper.

• In a medium bowl, combine coleslaw mix, chopped pineapple, mayonnaise, ¼ tsp sugar, juice from half the lime, and a pinch of lime zest (use ½ tsp sugar, juice from whole lime, and a big pinch of lime zest for 4 servings). Season with salt and pepper. Set aside until ready to serve.

• Pat chicken* dry with paper towels and season all over with half the paprika, half the chili powder, salt, and pepper. • Heat a drizzle of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add chicken; cook until browned and cooked through, 3-5 minutes per side. • Transfer chicken to a large bowl. Once cool enough to handle, shred chicken using 2 forks.

• Meanwhile, place 1 TBSP butter (2 TBSP for 4 servings) in a second large microwave-safe bowl; microwave until butter has melted, 30-60 seconds. • Add Frank’s hot sauce, remaining paprika, and remaining chili powder to bowl with melted butter; stir to combine. • Add shredded chicken to bowl with spicy sauce; toss until coated.

• Halve and toast buns. • Add 1 TBSP butter (2 TBSP for 4 servings) to bowl with garlic. Microwave until butter has melted, 30-60 seconds. Stir to combine.

• Brush bottom buns with half the garlic butter and fill with spicy chicken. Top with seasoned tomato and close sandwiches. Brush outsides of top buns with remaining garlic butter.

• Divide spicy garlic chicken sandwiches and Hot Like the Tropics pineapple slaw between plates. Serve.
Chicken is fully cooked when internal temperature reaches 165°.
Please tell T-Pain that this sandwich was delicious. It had just the right amount of heat and the seasoning was spot on. It was very tasty. And the slaw was so good as well. I used olive oil instead of the mayo and my husband said it was the best slaw he ever ate. (I don't like mayo.)
This recipe was fantastic! Whomever looked at a buffalo chicken wing and was like "I could make this better with a brioche bun garlic roll" is a genius. The pineapple slaw was a nice, crunchy, bright, counter against the sandwich. Great job.
T-Pain did it right! Very flavorful, but not too spicy. Beautiful looking and great tasting sandwich that should be featured again soon! I put the cooked chicken breasts in my KitchenAid with a paddle attachment to shred the chicken.
Kudos to T-Pain! We had his chicken and mashed potato bowls a couple weeks ago and really liked them! This meal was just as good, though I was unaware that I had to shred the chicken myself, so that was a new skill I got to learn!
This was really, really good (offer it again!) HOWEVER, I do not like hot spicy stuff so here is what I did -- instead of using the chili powder and hot spices and the hot sauce, I shredded the chicken and then used barbecue sauce instead -- Voila! Barbecue chicken sandwiches. With the slaw it was delicious!
This was SO easy to make and absolutely delicious! The pineapple & lime zest in the coleslaw was a nice twist on boring coleslaw! Both my husband and I are fans of Franks Red Hot, so of course we loved the chicken sandwiches.
I have to be careful with spicy foods from having a sensitive stomach but these sandwiches were FIRE!!! They did not hurt my stomach at all. A big plus is when my picky eater (husband) tries stuff out of his comfort zone and likes it too. These sandwiches are definitely one of our new favorites! We hope to order them again sometime.
This really packs a punch so the cooling slaw with the acid from the pineapple are really welcome. Putting some of the slaw on the sandwich really made for a great eating experience.
Sooo good! I grilled my chicken, which is my preference and then toasted the buns on the grill with the garlic butter. Loved this! Please, please offer this in regular rotation!!
One of the chicken cutlets quality of meat was absolutely horrible. Also having the slaw be the side was kind of a pointless choice. Everybody puts slaw on the chicken. This is just a sandwich with no good side with it and 50% of our meat was inedible. T Pain wouldn't have approved.
