Who said fruits had to be sweet? This spicy, refreshing citrus dish is inspired by Trinidadian chow, a style of fruit salad often made with mango, pineapple, or citrus, popularly served as a snack or side dish. To make this citrusy version, you’ll slice up orange and combine it with chopped chili, cilantro, and a generous squeeze of lime juice. The end result? A super craveable snack that strikes just the right balance of sweet, spicy, fresh, and acidic. *Nutrition values are representative of a 1/4 bundle serving.*

Wash and dry produce. Cut off top and bottom of orange; set orange upright on one of the cut sides. Using curved downward cuts, remove remaining peel; discard peel. Slice orange into wedges. Roughly chop cilantro. Halve lime. Finely chop chili, removing seeds for less heat. In a medium bowl, combine orange, cilantro, juice from half the lime, a pinch of salt, pepper, and as much chopped chili as you like. Taste and season with more salt, pepper, and lime juice if desired.
The chili pepper was way too hot for me. I didn't realize how hot it was, so I included the whole pepper after chopping it up and removing the seeds. The Cara Cara oranges tasted delicious, along with the lime juice and cilantro. I ordered this dessert again, but next time will use very little or none of the chili pepper.
This was amazing. I was so curious about combining these ingredients. The results were fantastic. Simple way to elevate the humble Citrus fruit. We will definitely make this from now on.
Oh I LOVED this. Added more chili (jalapeno) plus all of the lime plus zest and then Tajin this was incredible.
It was better the second day (we had half one day, half another), so for the recipe it would have been nice to have instructions tell you to make it at least 30-60 min in advance of eating.
Fun to make and a quick refreshing snack. I also made it on my own with pineapple and it was so tasty,
Wow! Such a delicious combination of flavors! It's so refreshing and light. I'm keeping this recipe in my personal cookbook.
Really really tasty, was a little worried it might be too spicy because I added the whole pepper without seeing that the recipe said "to taste," but it was perfect for my spice level.
Really like these flavors. I think it needed a crunchy element.
Very VERY tasty! Wish there were multiple peppers though. It wasn't enough to spice the 3 oranges
Simple and easy, but somehow the combination of flavors was really interesting.
